Renewable Energy Power Generation

Accelerating the build out of the renewable infrastructure needed to reach net zero - and we're hiring!

About us

We're creating the renewable energy infrastructure and trading company of the future. Because if we are to avoid climate catastrophe, the energy sector needs to undergo significant, systemic change - and fast. We’re beginning with energy storage. Battery storage allows renewable energy to be stored for when it's needed, creating a more reliable, flexible and decarbonised national grid. And we're looking for great people to make this happen. If you're interested, get in touch at careers@field.energy and we can tell you more.

We’re proud to share that Field has won Net Zero Energy Developer of the Year at the Regen Green Energy Awards 2026. The judges highlighted “the clear and consistent approach that Field takes to assessing project impact and ensuring transparency across their work,” and noted that “Field shows that responsible development is not just about building projects, it’s about setting new standards and evolving the system to enable a successful energy transition.” It’s especially rewarding to see our lifecycle assessment work recognised in this way. A big thank you to Regen, and well done to everyone across the team who made this possible.

No supply chain is risk-free. The highest-impact ESG risks often sit upstream... ⛏️ Mining and refining, beyond direct suppliers 📢 Limited public data and inconsistent disclosure 📝 Declarations without auditable evidence So what does good actually look like? At Field, it means moving ESG upstream and early: - ESG screening deeply embedded throughout the procurement process - Targeted deep-dives where transparency is weak - Clear red lines around modern slavery, poor labour standards and sanctioned entities - Contractual controls that stand up to lender scrutiny In collaboration with Infyos we’ve pulled this into a practical guide: "A Developer’s Guide to ESG Risk Management in BESS Procurement" It’s a hands-on view of how we approach sourcing, especially useful if you’re early on or still developing your internal processes. As lender and regulatory expectations tighten, getting this right early is critical - beyond it just being the right thing to do. Report link in comments. #BESS #ESG #EnergyStorage

As Field grows, we’re taking time to reflect on how we can continue to build a workplace where people feel included, supported, and able to do their best work. Our latest EDI survey helps us understand how our team is experiencing Field today, and where we can do better tomorrow. In our newest blog, we share what we’ve learned so far and the areas we’re focusing on as we continue to grow. Read more: https://lnkd.in/e2-z3RQs

We’re excited to share that Field has been shortlisted for Regen's Net Zero Energy Developer award. The award focuses on developers building the clean energy infrastructure needed to actually make a net zero system work. What put us on the shortlist: - Our portfolio includes five long-duration assets located behind grid constraints, providing support where the system needs it most. - We aim for a best-in-class approach to development, working with local communities from the outset to ensure our projects provide meaningful, long-term benefits. - We use our own in-house platform to optimise our assets. - We’re actively measuring and reducing the carbon footprint of our own operations and our wider supply chain. - Our educational initiative has reached over 5,000 children so far, highlighting careers in the energy transition. - We’re focused on practical initiatives to improve gender diversity and break down barriers in the energy sector. Fingers crossed for the final award at the end of March!

This month marks nine months since Philip Hainbach joined Field as General Manager - Germany, and it’s been a big year so far. Together, our German team has: - Brought our first BESS asset into construction - operational this year. - Secured a number of large-scale TSO Grid Connections on 380kV. - Built a strong team of ~10 experts with more to come. In a new interview, Philip shares his reflections on entering the German market, navigating a challenging grid environment, seizing growth and M&A opportunities, and shaping Field’s strategy in one of Europe’s most exciting energy markets. Looking forward, we’re continuing to grow and that means building out our team in Germany. Right now, we’re hiring a Senior Project Developer to help us drive system critical projects and shape what’s next. Read Philip's full blog post on our website https://lnkd.in/egQByAZ7

Last night Field was named Company of the Year at the UK National Sustainability Awards 🏆 Our sustainability approach is simple and disciplined - focus where our impact is both material and feasible. That means prioritising the issues where we have real leverage and acting where we can measure long-term outcomes. Some highlights of putting that into practice over the last year: - Agreeing the first carbon ratchet for battery storage in GB - directly linking financing terms to measurable avoided carbon - Open-sourcing our unique green financing clauses via the The Chancery Lane Project (Laith & Irsa’s Clause) so other players can replicate - Detailed cradle-to-grave lifecycle assessments of our assets, validated by independent third parties - Publicly sharing our methodologies, from lifecycle analysis to carbon-impact modelling (the marginal emitter methodology), to help raise standards across the sector - Ethical sourcing due diligence aligned with international guidance, from onboarding, through assessments and audits - working collaboratively with our supply chain - Management systems aligned to ISO standards for environment, quality, occupational health & safety, and psychological health - Community transparency at project level and a schools programme introducing young people to careers in renewable energy registering 71 schools across the UK and reaching 4,456 pupils ...as well as the more obvious carbon arbitrage of our energy storage business model We commit to keep sharing what works, and what doesn't as we grow, to the benefit of the sector as a whole. 2 years on from Amit Gudka's first appearance on Modo Energy's Transmission podcast, our Head of Development, Bex Sherwood, has returned to the pod to give an update on Field's achievements in that time. Bex discusses some of the key challenges Field currently faces, including the need for increased zonal capacities for batteries in highly constrained areas. She highlights the importance of the Strategic Spatial Energy Plan in addressing this. In the final part of the pod, Bex discusses what we can all do to help increase gender diversity in the energy sector - a topic we at Field are also passionate about. As part of our commitment, Field will be holding company allyship training in November. Today, Ofgem confirmed Field has secured eligibility for 5 our long-duration projects: Fyrish, Long Stratton, Netherton, New Deer and Rigifa, which will now move forward to Stage 2 for further assessment. This marks another step forward in our mission to build the flexible, low-carbon infrastructure Britain needs. The cap-and-floor model is crucial to unlocking investment and we are glad to see Ofgem running a process that is highly competitive and will drive value for consumers. However, critical to scheme success will be how grid connection reform and transmission network charging proposals interact with the allocation round. The current transmission charging regime penalises storage projects close to clean energy generation, limiting the potential LDES has to alleviate spiralling curtailment costs. We therefore encourage Ofgem to add urgency to proposed industry modifications to address this. https://lnkd.in/eZxMGb7c

👏👏 Envision has signed agreements to supply two 50 MW / 100 MWh battery energy storage systems for Field’s Holmston and Drum Farm projects in Scotland. These systems will provide vital flexibility in a part of the grid subject to significant constraints to continue to accelerate the U.K.’s renewable energy transition. Construction at Holmston began this summer, with both projects expected to be completed by the end of 2026. With advanced technology and long-term service commitments, Envision is proud to contribute to Scotland’s net zero future. #BESS #EnergyStorage #RenewableEnergy #GridStability #EnvisionEnergy #EnvisionESS
