Spent some time with Floci and have to say, this is one of the most impressive alternatives to LocalStack I've seen in a while. For teams building cloud-native applications, having a fast, reliable way to develop and test AWS workloads locally can dramatically improve developer productivity, reduce cloud costs, and shorten feedback loops. What stood out to me about Floci is its focus on providing a practical developer experience without the complexity that often comes with local cloud emulation. If you're building on AWS and looking for ways to improve your local development workflow, it's definitely worth checking out. The future of software engineering is not just about better AI. It's also about reducing friction in the developer experience, and tools like Floci are helping move the industry in that direction. Have any of you used Floci yet? I'd be interested in hearing how it compares to your current LocalStack setup. #AWS #CloudNative #DeveloperExperience #Java #SoftwareEngineering #DevOps #PlatformEngineering

It's incredible to see how Floci grew in just three months. Congratulations Hector Ventura for this big milestone! Floci offers extremely performant cloud emulators for AWS, Azure, and GCP. All free and open source! If you work with Spring Boot, I built an Arconia Dev Service for Floci to give you a no-code and no-config integration experience with Spring Cloud AWS. Check it out! #Java #SpringBoot #SpringCloud Floci - Any Cloud. Locally.

Had a lot of fun learning more about Floci - Any Cloud. Locally. from Hector Ventura! What a great project, and what a great use case of Native Image for fast startup, low memory usage, and easy installation across platforms.

🚀 Supersonic Subatomic Java in action! Ever wondered what it takes to make a full AWS emulator start in just 24 milliseconds? We are super excited to partner with the SouJava community to bring you an epic live session featuring the brilliant Hector Ventura, we are going to push the limits of what you thought was possible! In our session, "~24 milliseconds: what the local cloud taught me about native Java", Hector will walk us through the journey of building Floci - Any Cloud. Locally., a free and open-source local cloud emulator. We’ll be diving deep into a real-world native-image case study, specifically showcasing: ✅ The massive wins: Instant startup (~24ms), ultra-low memory footprint (~13 MiB idle), and a tiny 40 MB binary. ✅ The honest challenges: Dealing with the closed-world assumption when throwing cloud SDKs, Docker clients, embedded DNS, and startup TLS at a static binary. ✅ The framework: How Quarkus carries the weight and does the heavy lifting to make all of this possible seamlessly. ✅ The practical payoff: How to run Floci as a Testcontainers dependency in your own tests, so you can leave the stream and use it that very same night. 📅 Date: June 27th ⏰ Time: 10:00 AM CST | 02:00 PM BRT Grab your coffee, bring your questions, and join the club for an amazing technical deep dive. Let's see Quarkus shine! ✨ 🔗 Link in the first comment. #QuarkusClub #Quarkus #Java #GraalVM #CloudNative #Backend #DeveloperExperience
