Industrial teams already know what they want to build. The challenge is turning that idea into a working implementation fast enough ⚡ FlowFuse Expert helps close that gap. Describe the OEE dashboard, MES handover screen, or integration you need in plain language — and FlowFuse Expert builds it directly in your workspace 🤖🏭 No more starting from an empty canvas. No more manually wiring every piece together before you can iterate 🔄 The goal isn’t to replace engineers. It’s to remove repetitive setup work so teams can focus on solving real operational problems faster 🚀 This release is a big step toward practical, agentic industrial development. At this year's Hannover Messe, FlowFuse CEO ZJ van de Weg got the chance to chat with Tulip's Ecosystem and Strategic Alliances head Edward Atkins - and the conversation was incredibly illuminating 💡! This is a great conversation to check out if you're interested in industrial automation ⚙️, the reality of open and closed platforms 🔧, and the future of agentic development in industry 🧠. Check out the video below, and find the full video here: https://lnkd.in/ecrxwPfY #industrialautomation #flowfuse #tulip

It's a rare situation when you get to experience something that you've read about in textbooks in real life. But this year, it happened - FlowFuse's chief architect of the Hannover Messe demo was run over by a (theoretical) bus. Canceled flights, nationwide strikes, and logistics breakdowns meant that a massive demo with thousands of simulated machines, endpoints, and processes got stuck on the literal other side of the world. The cool part? It all still worked. Data was processed, endpoints were supported, even local LLM connectivity was leveraged for querying a million-point data system. This is the Bus Factor problem - not in theory, but in the real world. And on Thursday, May 28th, we're going to dig deep and give you a retrospective covering: - What went wrong and how logistics broke down; - How FlowFuse delivered platform tooling to recover from even this critical break point (with live demos and example code); and - The lessons you can take away from this experience for your own production systems. 🕰️ When: 1700 CET, 1100 ET 🖥️ Where: Online 🎙️ Who: Kristopher Sandoval If you're working in critical systems and worried about critical modes of failure, this is a webinar session you don't want to miss! 🚨 Your OEE dashboard is probably lying to you. Not because the formula is wrong — but because of how the data gets in. 📋 When operators reconstruct stops from memory at shift end, manual systems capture only 60–70% of actual downtime. Micro-stops under 5 minutes? Almost never logged. Speed losses running at 85% of rated capacity? They don't show up as downtime at all. The result: your dashboard says 78%. The floor reality is closer to 60%. 📉 And that's before we get to: ⚠️ Sites using different definitions of "planned downtime" ⚠️ Ideal cycle times set artificially low to protect the score ⚠️ Operators gaming whatever metric gets tied to their review ⚠️ The "Other" bucket swallowing 20% of downtime events 🏭 That 85% "world-class" benchmark everyone quotes? It came from Nakajima's TPM framework in the 1980s — designed for stable, high-volume manufacturing. A pharma plant at 72% under FDA validation rules is likely outperforming an automotive line bragging about 84%. Context matters. 💡 OEE isn't broken. It's just most often misused — and most factories don't realise how much the number has drifted from reality. If any of this sounds familiar, this article is worth your time. 👇 🔗 https://lnkd.in/eg6XBAqs #Manufacturing #OEE #IIoT #Industry40 #IndustrialAutomation #LeanManufacturing #OperationalExcellence #NodeRED

Yesterday, we launched one of the most significant updates to FlowFuse Expert since it first launched 🚀 - and today, Kristopher Sandoval is showing you what it looks like in practice. With this new update, you can use natural language to build your flows - all within the Expert interface! Until now, Expert could surface information, suggest changes, and act on links you clicked 🧠. But you still have to place every node and wire by hand - and at scale, that takes time. But now, you can simply describe what you want to build, and FlowFuse Expert will build it for you. We're talking creating an MES, dashboards, reports, anything you can imagine - all using RAG-enhanced AI functionality natively within the FlowFuse platform 💪. Check out the video below - and watch the full video here to see the update in action https://lnkd.in/etgStsNz #flowfuse #artificialintelligence #industry40

🚀 FlowFuse 2.30 is out. The headline: FlowFuse Expert now builds industrial applications for you. Describe the integration, dashboard, or workflow you need, and Expert assembles it directly in your workspace — adding tabs, wiring nodes, and configuring properties while you stay in the loop through chat. For example: 💬 “Get temperature from Modbus address 1001 and publish that to my UNS broker on factory/line3/temperature” We also refined the immersive editor experience for faster iteration with Expert and made snapshot comparisons less noisy and easier to review. Expert application building is currently being soft launched on FlowFuse Cloud Starter, Team, and Enterprise on request. Self-hosted support follows shortly. Managing data across machines, sensors, and systems doesn't have to be complex. 🏭 A Unified Namespace (UNS) centralizes all your operational data in one place — and with FlowFuse, you can build one using a low-code approach. Here's how it works: 1️⃣ Collect — pull data from legacy & modern devices via industrial protocols 2️⃣ Transform — convert raw data into structured, context-rich payloads 3️⃣ Broker — route everything through a central MQTT broker 4️⃣ Organize — use ISA-95 topic naming for logical, scalable hierarchy 5️⃣ Visualize — build real-time dashboards on top of your unified data One of the key advantages: a low-code setup combined with full visibility into the entire topic hierarchy from a single interface. Worth a read if you're exploring IIoT architecture 👇 https://lnkd.in/ezMd_R6g #IIoT #UNS #MQTT #NodeRED #FlowFuse #Industry40 #SmartManufacturing #OTArchitecture

In 1799, a French soldier digging fortifications in Egypt hit a stone that unlocked an entire civilisation's worth of knowledge overnight. Your factory floor is covered in the same kind of inscriptions. You just can't read them yet. 🏺 Every PLC fault log, every SCADA alarm, every maintenance ticket, every edge telemetry stream... four records of the same event, in four incompatible formats, with no shared reference point connecting them. We just published our takes on why IIoT data fragmentation is fundamentally a language problem, not a connectivity problem. And why the Unified Namespace is the Rosetta Stone factories have been waiting for. Key takeaways: ✅ Integration at scale creates N² complexity. It multiplies your technical debt. ✅ OPC-UA separates meaning from transport; MQTT + Sparkplug B moves it reliably ✅ A UNS removes the N² problem entirely. Every new device inherits the full value of everything before it. The infrastructure to do this without a multi-year programme exists today. 👇 Full read here: https://lnkd.in/ec8gj6Jv #IIoT #SmartManufacturing #UnifiedNamespace #OT #DigitalFactory #Industry40
