Digitalization and automation are keys to success! The CTO of the Freudenberg Group, Dr. Frank Heislitz, saw this firsthand during his visit to our #Kufstein, #Austria facility. The plant is part of our Special Sealing division, producing customized sealing solutions and special products for many industries. During his visit, Dr. Heislitz met with the management team and Technical Talents on site to discuss current projects in digitalization and automation. These discussions covered a wide range of topics, including the #automation of administrative processes and the use of #AI to control #production. The team in Kufstein is working on "lights-out manufacturing," a method of fully automating production in factories and other industrial facilities so that no human presence—and therefore no energy-intensive lighting—is required on site. This long-term vision is a collaboration with Freudenberg Technology Innovation, the corporate R&D department within the Freudenberg Group that focuses on promoting #innovation and technological progress, and plays a central role in the development of new technologies and materials that are used in various industries. For the last two days, we invited representatives of our longtime partner Rubix for an Industrial Distributor Event at our headquarters in Weinheim. According to the motto “Strategic meeting across national borders”, we spent two informative and illuminating days together. The most important topics were the development of joint cross-border market approaches, the definition of new potential business opportunities as well as the celebration of our 75 years of partnership. The integrated workshops led to valuable insights and inspiring discussions. In addition, the visitors were taken on a tour to our raw mixing plant, Simmerring® production and the test field at the Freudenberg campus. “The event provided an ideal platform for deepening our partnership with Rubix and setting the course for our future cooperation. The lively exchange made the event a complete success,” summarized Matthias Arnold, VP Strategic Business Development.
