He shared how his son’s autism diagnosis inspired the family’s mission to make community spaces more welcoming and how KultureCity has expanded to more than 6,000 locations across 39 countries. 🏀 Ballin’ in Boutwell is Back — Bigger and Better Than Ever! 🏀   Last year, Hibbett and Nike made history — bringing men’s college basketball back to Birmingham’s iconic Boutwell Auditorium for the first time in over 45 years.   This October, Ballin’ in Boutwell returned in a major way — expanding into a full week of action-packed hoops from October 13–16! Fans packed the stands to watch powerhouse programs including Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, Samford, Oklahoma State, and Alabama A&M, while women’s basketball took the spotlight with a thrilling Alabama vs. Florida State matchup.   Beyond the game, fans enjoyed a fully immersive shopping experience featuring the launch of the Ja 3 and A’ja One, plus custom shoe and apparel stations that brought Nike’s innovation and style courtside.   The spirit of community ran deep, too — Hibbett and Nike proudly donated $25,000 to KultureCity to support their mission of making the NEVERS happen and ensuring inclusion for all in sports and beyond.   From Mayor Randall Woodfin’s inspiring remarks to the energy of players, coaches, and fans, one thing was clear: Ballin’ in Boutwell is more than basketball. Birmingham just became the first school district in the nation to implement district-wide sensory inclusivity training – and it’s a big deal. Too often, children with sensory needs or who are neurodivergent are misunderstood, mislabeled, or even punished for behaviors rooted in how they experience the world. That stops here. Birmingham City Schools – through a powerful partnership with KultureCity – is sending a clear message: Every child deserves a classroom, a school bus, a hallway, and a cafeteria where they feel safe, supported, and seen. From calming spaces in classrooms to tools that help students self-regulate, we’re shifting from reactive discipline to proactive care. That’s what inclusive public education looks like. This is what happens when we lead with empathy, listen to our students, and center those who’ve too often been left on the margins.
