Congratulations to Professor Andrew Morris, Director of HDR UK, on being knighted in the King’s Birthday Honours 2026. The award recognises his UK-wide leadership of research and training to accelerate the trustworthy use of health data to improve the lives of patients and their families, including in dementia, cardiovascular disease and health inequalities. As HDR UK’s inaugural Director, Andrew has worked to enable research that improves people’s lives through the responsible use of health data. This project will bring together advanced AI, digital health and health data science to generate academically rigorous insights with clear socio‑economic impact: improving patient care, informing policy, and helping reduce long‑term burdens on health care systems.
