A big thank you to NCE Finance Innovation and Agenda Vestlandet for hosting Tech for alle 4.0, and to our own Lars B., Developer Advocate, for taking the stage with his talk "Datainnsikt for alle" (Data Insights for Everyone). His message was simple but important: access to data is not the same as insight. Real inclusion isn't only about putting data in front of people. It's about how that data is presented, so everyone can actually make sense of it, whatever their perspective or ability. Lars brought that to life with concrete examples: rethinking colour choices so charts work for people with colour vision deficiency, using sonification so screen-reader users can hear the shape of a graph instead of reading it point by point, and giving people better tools to explore their own data and reach insight they can act on. This week the United Nations General Assembly voted 164 to 1 to encourage the world to move on from the Mercator projection. The 1569 Mercator map is used for navigation, but it distorts size. It makes Greenland look as big as Africa, when Africa is roughly 14 times larger. The projection you choose change how people read your data. So it's worth seeing the difference for yourself. Highcharts in the Wild: Veezoo What chart do you build when you don't know what question the user is going to ask? Veezoo uses Highcharts as the visualization layer for its agentic analytics platform. Users ask questions about their data in plain language, and the answer comes back as an interactive chart they can explore and refine. Since the questions aren't known in advance, neither are the charts. Veezoo builds a Highcharts configuration dynamically for each result, so a single code path covers everything from a simple time series to a Sankey diagram, across 20+ chart types. They've also built their own chart editor on top of Highcharts, letting users restyle series, add annotations and reference lines, and adjust axis labels.
