What will it take to prepare humans for #Mars? The upcoming #OpenAccess book "Mars Exploration – Science, Vision and the Road Ahead," edited by Ilaria Cinelli PhD FAsMA, explores the scientific, technological, operational, and human dimensions of future Mars missions. The Call for Book Chapters welcomes interdisciplinary contributions across: 🚀 Space exploration and engineering 🩺 Space medicine and human performance 🤖 AI and autonomous systems 🌍 Governance and international cooperation 🛰️ Deep space and Moon-to-Mars operations Explore the project and submit your chapter: https://lnkd.in/d3nfZMsA #SpaceExploration #SpaceResearch #IntechOpen
I will say it anyway... Mars exploration cannot be 𝗼𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 for space programs. Period. Preparing humans for #Mars means preparing for the most difficult operational environment we have ever faced in #spaceexploration. And the science developed for deep space missions may become one of the greatest drivers of #innovation, #resilience, and quality of life on Earth. That is why humans can offer more than 𝗽𝗮𝘆𝗹𝗼𝗮𝗱. I am happy to share the call for book chapters for 𝘔𝘢𝘳𝘴 𝘌𝘹𝘱𝘭𝘰𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 – 𝘚𝘤𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦, 𝘝𝘪𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘙𝘰𝘢𝘥 𝘈𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘥, an upcoming open-access book with IntechOpen that focuses on the scientific, technological, operational, and human challenges of Mars exploration. We welcome contributions across disciplines, including: 🚀 Space exploration and engineering 🩺 #spacemedicine and human performance 🤖 Autonomy and AI for space systems 🌍 Governance, #policy, and international cooperation 🛰️ #MoonToMars strategy and deep space operations Deadlines are: 🚨 Chapter Proposal Submission: 29 May 2026 🚨Full Chapter Submission: 31 July 2026 ➡️ If your work connects to the future of #planetaryexploration, I would be glad to hear from you 🙂 !

As we wrap up Earth Month, seeing our planet from space reminds us how small and fragile it really is, putting everything into perspective. This year’s theme, “Our Power, Our Planet,” highlights the importance of collective awareness and informed decisions. Researchers and #IntechOpen play a key role in this mission, bridging the gap between scientific discovery and the actionable knowledge needed to protect our world. #EarthMonth #OurPowerOurPlanet #Sustainability #ScientificResearch #OpenAccess
