Next week in Barcelona, intoPIX is presenting JPEG XS for Onboard Image Compression in Space Systems at the 10th On-board Payload Data Compression Workshop (#OBPDC2026). Space imagers keep capturing more: higher resolution, more spectral bands, faster frame rates. Yet inside the payload, much of that data still travels uncompressed. Compression there has to be practically invisible: no added latency, no extra memory, and no change to the data that scientists and AI models rely on.
