Ulaanbaatar, the world’s coldest capital city that’s home to 1.7 million people, is growing rapidly. The city faces growing energy demands amid challenges like air and soil pollution, traffic congestion, and the need for a reliable power supply. IFC’s investment in the municipal bond issued by the city government is helping the city expand access to stable power supply, benefiting 25,000 households with four hours of uninterrupted electricity a day.
