ℹ️ Our covered track is unique. At 115 feet high, the roof of our all-weather test track covers a 700-by-300-foot area, making it one of the largest fabric structures in the United States. Last week, crews completed some regular maintenance on the structure. One of our photographers caught the action from above and below!

Recently, Luke E. Riexinger and I had the opportunity to host 2025 Global Road Safety Leadership Course participants at IIHS and facilitate discussions on road safety in LMICs.
Have you ever seen a crash test up close? 👀💥 As part of #GRSLC2025, participants visited the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety / Highway Loss Data Institute in Virginia to witness a live crash test. For many, it was a first — and a striking reminder of the importance of vehicle safety standards, crash prevention technology, and data-driven design. The visit also included Rafael Tucci from Latin NCAP, who shared perspectives on vehicle safety challenges and standards from Latin America, highlighting the importance of advancing safety across global markets. Thank you for having us, IIHS! #BIGRS

🚲Looking for the best protection from your new bicycle helmet? This is a great resource: https://lnkd.in/dCzKdmE. In collaboration with IIHS, the Virginia Tech Helmet Ratings program has evaluated 271 bike helmets using the STAR evaluation system to help consumers find a helmet with the best concussion protection. These impact tests evaluate a helmet's ability to reduce linear acceleration and rotational velocity of the head resulting from a range of head impacts a cyclist might experience. Helmets with more stars provide a reduction in concussion risk for these impacts compared to helmets with less stars. #NationalBikeWeek #NationalBikeMonth #cycling
