What does great customer support look like in adtech? 💡 The technology matters, of course. But so does the experience of working with a partner day to day - how quickly they respond, how transparent they are, whether they bring useful ideas to the table, and how well they turn data into usable reports. We’re bringing together a group of agency partners soon to discuss this, and we’d love to widen the conversation here, too. Vote below - and if there's something we've missed, we'd love to hear about it in the comments!

Are curated marketplaces the future of premium digital publishing? What piece of advice would you give to publishers? Illuma CEO Peter Mason joined other experts with the AOP Association of Online Publishers to answer this question. “The curated marketplace is quietly turning into the main event for buyers and therefore sellers, too,” he said. "But curation is only as good as the intelligence powering it. The publishers who thrive will be those who understand - page by page, in real time - what actually works for advertisers and have ways to scale these insights dynamically, both on- and off-site.” Read the full range of expert answers at the link below 🔗 https://lnkd.in/eBtn8geg

Brand safety has had a long-overdue upgrade. Instead of limiting reach by blocking huge swathes of content, our human-trained AI algorithms make precise placement decisions based on the full context, tone and meaning. What does this mean for you? For brands and agencies: → More brand-safe reach without compromising safety standards → Campaigns run in genuinely suitable environments - not just unblocked ones → Greater confidence that quality inventory isn't being written off by blunt tools For publishers and media owners: → Up to +20% uplift in available inventory → Fairer treatment of quality journalism and editorial content → Improved yield across a broader breadth of inventory, including news illuma is now available in the brand safety marketplace of The Trade Desk. Amid recent concerns about AI security, many marketers are asking whether AI tools can be trusted to make brand-safety decisions on their own. Writing in The Drum, illuma CEO Peter Mason argues that while AI has the ability to interpret content and make decisions independently, human judgement is still essential for understanding nuance and for maintaining security and scale. Modern brand safety should be about understanding risk rather than avoiding it altogether, he says - and that happens best when humans and machines work together. Between the meetings, events and catch-ups ☀️, here’s what our sales director David Evans noticed at Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity this year: ▶️ “This is a busy time for platforms, agencies and in-house teams - everyone is reshuffling their tech stacks to improve reach, costs and outcomes" ▶️ “The smartest planners are incorporating signals from multiple channels - think open web, CTV, audio, apps, contextual, attention…” ▶️ “As AI embeds more deeply, keeping a human in the loop is boosting accuracy, transparency and user confidence” ▶️ “Premium advertising inventory matters more than ever as AI content floods the open web” ▶️ “Finally the industry is seeing that supporting quality journalism and the right editorial environments is as important as avoiding the wrong ones.” The team loved catching up with friends and partners from Index Exchange, Equativ, OpenX, PubMatic, dentsu, SAS, The Trade Desk and more, and it was great to meet new faces too. Thanks to everyone who made time to chat. Continue the conversation with David and the rest of the team by emailing hello@weareilluma.com

With summer in full swing, we caught up with our Data Analyst, Natasha Benson, over an (iced) coffee ☕ to find out what a typical day looks like, what industry trends have caught her eye recently, and what she enjoys doing away from the screen. 💬 Can you tell us about your role at illuma and what a typical day looks like for you? I'm one of the data analysts at illuma, working closely with the client success and the tech teams here in our London office. A typical day might involve diving into campaign performance data, collaborating with the CS team on optimisation strategies, or sitting with the tech team to work through a technical build. 💬 What’s your core focus at the moment? We've recently developed a brand safety system that we’re expecting will shake things up a bit. The goal is to give brands the ability to move beyond manual blocklists toward systems that can analyse deeper contextual meaning and nuance; in the process keeping more quality content open to advertising campaigns. This is great news for brands who value quality media environments, and positive for publishers too, as the whole system becomes more transparent and equitable. We’re excited about launching this to the wider market in a few weeks time. 💬 What’s exciting you the most about the industry right now? Agentic AI in programmatic is what's genuinely exciting me right now. With the programmatic landscape shifting faster than ever, the ability to make smart, privacy-friendly decisions automatically is the real differentiator! 💬 What’s keeping you busy outside of work? I like to keep very active - you'll either find me scoring goals on the netball court, running with my two dogs, or out and about with friends. I recently completed my first half marathon, so you might catch me at the pub a little more than usual! 💬 Finally, what’s the best way for people to connect with you? Feel free to connect with me here on LinkedIn. #AIInAdvertising #MeetTheTeam
