ICYMI: Last week was a big one for the Oak Hill Bio team! On Monday, we announced an agreement with Research Alliance Corporation III that will take Oak Hill (OHB Pediatrics Ltd d/b/a Oak Hill Bio) public on Nasdaq. Together with our recent Series A financing, this gives us the resources to keep advancing rugonersen — our investigational antisense oligonucleotide therapy for Angelman syndrome — through our Phase 3 BEACON trial and toward a potential NDA submission. Grateful to see the coverage this week from STAT, BioSpace, Fierce Biotech and more digging into what this deal means for the company and the field: RA Capital backs upstart rival to Ultragenyx and Ionis in rare brain disease https://lnkd.in/gt-x7PNQ Oak Hill takes SPAC track to Nasdaq with Roche asset in tow https://lnkd.in/eChpsqrf RA Capital launches rare disease company Oak Hill Bio onto Nasdaq via SPAC https://lnkd.in/g_pKx9rW Thank you to our investors, partners, and the Oak Hill team for the work that got us to this point. For #neonatology, a field where significant unmet needs remain, every step forward truly matters. Proud and excited to be a part of the joint Chiesi Group and Oak Hill Bio team working on the Phase 2b FOOTPRINTS study, which has now completed patient enrolment! More than 350 infants enrolled across a global network of neonatal centres reflects a shared commitment to find a therapeutic option to prevent bronchopulmonary dysplasia, one of the most serious complications of extreme prematurity. My sincere thanks to all investigators, study teams, participating families, and our partner. Looking forward to our topline results – stay tuned! https://lnkd.in/dxxKvzWr

It’s been a pleasure to work with Josh and his team in raising money from top tier investors for the spin out of Rugonerson for Angelman syndrome into a new company. The holding company will stay focussed on developing OHB 607 to treat the complications of premature birth.
Oak Hill Bio, an Altrincham, UK-based clinical-stage biotechnology company, raised $32.5M in Series A financing. The round was co-led by Balyasny Asset Management L.P., venBio, and Janus Henderson Investors, with participation from KCap Biotechnology Fund LP. Oak Hill Bio is focused on acquiring and advancing promising rare disease therapies that have been deprioritized by large pharmaceutical companies. Its lead candidate, rugonersen (OHB-724), is an investigational antisense oligonucleotide therapy entering Phase 3 development for Angelman syndrome, a rare neurodevelopmental disorder with no approved disease-modifying treatments. The company plans to use the proceeds to advance rugonersen into a pivotal Phase 3 clinical trial. Oak Hill Bio’s leadership team includes Josh Distler (CEO), Mark McHale (CSO), Victoria Niklas (CMO), Sharon Morriss (COO), and Ike Greenstein (CBO). Board members include Hussein Al-Mossawi, David Colpman, Kim A Davis, Jiaping Gu, Parvinder Thiara, Sandeep Kulkarni, Douglas Fambrough of KCap Biotechnology Fund LP, and Richard Gaster, M.D., Ph.D. of venBio. 👇Track where life sciences capital is moving and what it signals for 2026 on BYTE51: https://www.byte51.com/ 📅 Schedule a demo: https://lnkd.in/gHdpTbDs #Biotech #LifeSciences #RareDisease #AngelmanSyndrome #Biopharma #DrugDevelopment #SeriesA #HealthcareInnovation #PrecisionMedicine #VentureCapital
