From Laško to Udine — openDAQ has been on the road. In April and May, we joined two major test and measurement events: Dewesoft #MC2026 in Slovenia and the HBK VI-grade #SPS2026 in Italy. At both events, we showcased the latest version of openDAQ, including improved stability and performance, plus new integration points such as LabVIEW, RTMaps, MQTT, Raspberry Pi support, and more. The conversations were different, but the message was the same: interoperability is becoming a practical requirement for modern test and measurement systems, and that is exactly where openDAQ fits in. Thank you for the spotlight!  A few more words about the pipeline, open-sourced by Joseph Rigal here: https://lnkd.in/eVbr43bU Imagine trying to find your keys in a bag without any sense of touch. This is the kind of challenge we were addressing. To fully experiment with the Enactic OpenArm (we definitely want one now 👀), we combined a bit of magic from several amazing people and teams from France and Slovenia: - inspiration from the best of us (Caroline Pascal, definitely looking at you), - piezo sensors "Dragonfly IEPE" (Wormsensing), - open-source streaming protocol openDAQ (Dušan Žibrat Kalanj),  - analog-to-digital acquisition using Dewesoft IOLITE-X (Julien Cheret), - debugging support from the Unaite and Hugging Face teams Happy to share more info with anyone interested in the technical details! Example of dataset: https://lnkd.in/edTDXRBY Big shoutout to Haixuan Xavier Tao and Chakib Lahrach who helped make the event run super smoothly. Here’s what some of our engineers build… in their free time. 👀 Last week, Joseph Rigal and Emmanuel Virot — Head of Application Lab at Wormsensing — alongside Guillaume BONIFAS, Damien FRECHOU and ✅ Yvic Pineau, took part in the AI x Robotics Hackathon hosted at STATION F during the GOSIM AI Paris 2026 conference. For 48 hours, international teams worked under high-intensity conditions on real robotics and AI challenges using Enactic OpenArm and the Hugging Face LeRobot framework — turning STATION F into a live experimental robotics lab. The event gathered a strong ecosystem of researchers, engineers and AI leaders from organizations such as NVIDIA, Google, Amazon, Inria and Hugging Face, all focused on advancing real-world robotic interaction. And the team brought home the bronze medal. 🥉 Their project, Team ShakeItUp, explored a surprisingly challenging problem: identifying the content of an opaque bottle without seeing inside it. Using Dragonfly® sensors combined with Dewesoft IOLITE X acquisition systems through OpenDAQ, the team analyzed vibration signatures generated while shaking the bottle to infer if it is empty or not. Once identified, the robotic arm opened the bottle and poured the content using the OpenArm platform. What makes this especially exciting for us is how closely this connects with some of the explorations currently happening at Wormsensing around vibration-based perception and robotic interaction. Beyond industrial monitoring, these approaches open new perspectives for robotics: understanding contact, friction, texture, material interaction and micro-mechanical events that vision systems alone often struggle to capture reliably. From predictive maintenance to robotic perception, the philosophy remains the same: → extracting meaningful mechanical information where conventional systems reach their limits. Huge congratulations to Joseph, Emmanuel and the whole team for pushing these explorations forward outside working hours — driven by curiosity, engineering passion and the desire to build what comes next. 🤖 #Wormsensing #Robotics #AI #Deeptech #BotGYLD

💡Pushing the Edge of Interoperability: openDAQ on Arduino Q 🚀 At 🔺#Dewesoft #MC26, one thing was crystal clear: openDAQ is the future of Test and Measurement interoperability. It was everywhere! For those who missed the buzz, openDAQ is a game-changing open-source SDK designed to break down the walls between different hardware vendors. It provides a universal language for data acquisition, allowing seamless discovery, configuration, and high-speed data streaming regardless of the brand on the box. It’s built on a high-performance C++ core but offers the flexibility of Python bindings—making it a dream for developers in our industry. Among other RoboCup robot updates today, I decided to put my Arduino Q (4GB) to the ultimate test. My goal? To see if this board can handle the openDAQ SDK natively. Because the Arduino Q runs a managed #Debian #Linux environment on its #ARM64 architecture, a standard "one-line" install isn't the way to go for an expert. To get the best performance, I’m compiling directly from source on the board. Why go this route? Architecture Optimization: Local compilation allows the SDK to leverage the NEON (SIMD) instructions of the quad-core Cortex-A53 MPU. This is critical when you're planning to process high-speed data streams. System Integrity: I’m running everything inside a dedicated venv. Since the Linux side manages the Bridge #RPC (the vital link between the #MPU and the Arduino #MCU), keeping the system environment clean is priority number one to avoid bricking core board functionality. Maximum Power: As you can see in the htop snippet, I’m pushing all 4 cores to 100% using make -j4, but if I have a memory problem, I will try with -j2. The Qualcomm Dragonwing is definitely breaking a sweat, but it’s handling the build beautifully. It’s incredible to see the power of a "simple" Arduino being unleashed to act as a full-scale openDAQ host. I’m almost at 100% completion—stay tuned to see how it performs once I start discovering Dewesoft IOLITE and SIRIUS modules via #EtherCAT across the network! #openDAQ #Arduino #ArduinoQ #Dewesoft #MC26 #DataAcquisition #EmbeddedLinux #ARM64 #TestAndMeasurement #Innovation

One integration. Endless possibilities. We’re excited to share how RTMaps by Intempora (a dSPACE company) now integrates with openDAQ. As test and validation setups become more complex, interoperability remains a major challenge. Different devices, APIs, protocols, and data formats can make integration slow and difficult to scale. That’s where openDAQ helps: with a unified, open-source SDK and standardized API, applications can integrate once and connect to a broad ecosystem of compatible test and measurement devices. For RTMaps users, this means greater hardware flexibility and a faster path for building real-time multisensor applications in robotics, ADAS, and autonomous systems. • Today, openDAQ turns 4. 🎉 What started as an idea to make test & measurement systems work together without endless custom integration has grown into an open-source SDK and a steadily growing community focused on interoperability. In four years, we have gone from first demos to open source, from community building to the first openDAQ-compatible devices on the market. None of this would be possible without the community. Thank you to our founding members, HBK and Dewesoft, to all member companies, and to everyone contributing code, feedback, ideas, and real-world use cases. We are proud of what we have built together — and even more excited about what comes next.
