Amazing collaborative work between Startin'blox, CQCM and two Open Food Network instances (CoopCircuits and Open Food Network Canada) to build an #opensource tool supporting local food systems in Quebec. This project was made possible thanks to the support of NGI Sargasso. Thank you all and congrats 😊
🌱 Startin'blox is working alongside CoopCircuits and the CQCM to support local food systems in Québec Startin'blox has development a map designed to highlight Québec’s local food markets, in collaboration with CoopCircuits and the Conseil Québécois de la Coopération et de la Mutualité (CQCM), as part of the European NGI Sargasso program. 🎯 The goal: to make it easier for people to buy locally produced food by showcasing markets and their available products. 💡 What makes this project stand out: Markets already use their own e-commerce platforms (Shopify, Open Food Network, Locavora). The map connects directly to these tools, allowing their data to appear on their request, with no manual data entry needed. Data displayed on the map is “evergreen” and stays up to date, directly feeding from the ecommerce platforms 🔄 An impact that goes beyond the initial scope Two initiatives: Warteloo Region Food in Canada and Discover Regenerative in Australia, are planning to reuse the technology developed here. Other organizations have also expressed interest, showing that this work is shaping a sustainable digital ecosystem for local and cooperative food systems. 📍 Explore the map: https://lnkd.in/enN2Yw2G 💬What needs or challenges do you see in the digitalisation of local food systems?
