🚥 Does your website let visitors know if their opt-outs are being honored? New CCPA rules coming into effect Jan. 1 say it needs to. And honestly? It's common sense. 🧠 How else will consumers know if businesses are processing their opt-out requests, especially from browser-side preference signals like the Global Privacy Control? Find out how to comply with this new requirement as well as all the other California privacy changes coming with the new year in our blog. 👇👇👇 https://pvcy.me/43oWhCN #GPC #CCPA #DataPrivacy

A week on from #PSR25 and the Osano team has had time to consolidate their takeaways from one of the largest privacy events of the year. Here's what stood out: 🤖 Unsurprisingly, AI is on everyone's mind--many understand the risks it poses and the need for regulation, but the best path forward has yet to be defined. 📅 Next year's regulatory changes are stressing folks out! Enforcement is picking up and so is the pressure to get compliant, but there's little bandwidth to do so. 😵💫 The privacy solution market is still a very fragmented, confusing space to navigate. Drawn-out implementations, broken promises, and surprise pricing changes have left a lot of people feeling burned. Whether it's sorting out privacy risk so you can focus on AI, keeping up with the fast pace of regulatory changes and operationalizing requirements, or helping you find a solution that actually addresses your challenges, the Compliance Cowboys at Osano have your back. It was a delight to see everybody at PSR--we can't wait to see you all on the dusty trail next year. 😉

👀 Believe it or not, 2026 is right around the corner (good riddance '25 amirite?) and with it, #CCPA amendments! There are a lot to focus on, but risk assessments are among the more significant updates. 📋 You'll need to conduct risk assessments for the following processing activities: 🤝 Selling or sharing PI 👶 Processing sensitive PI (now inclusive of the data of under-16-year-olds) 🤖 Using automated decision-making technologies (ADMT) to make a significant decision about a consumer 👤 Certain profiling activities 🎓 Processing data for the purpose of training an ADMT 👁️ Using facial recognition, emotional recognition, or other technologies that verify a consumer’s identity or profile them 🎲 Any other activity that could pose significant risk to consumers' privacy rights Learn more about the new risk assessment requirements and other CCPA amendments in our blog: https://pvcy.me/43gRfIt

On the Osano Privacy Insider Podcast, IDI's Tehilla Shwartz Altshuler lays out four key overlooked challenges in digital privacy: the deep inferences and predictions machines can make about us; that machines don't only recognize our feelings, but influence them; the collapse of the boundaries between public and private spaces; and digital replications of real world things and people.
