    Ottehr 1.35 is available. Major updates: Greatly improved import of data from legacy EHRs easing the transition for practices with large patient datasets switching to Ottehr. Automated patient outreach engine: allows scheduling automated SMS, email and snail mail outreach tied to different triggering events like visit completion or aging invoices, but completely customizable by the practice. Check out the video below, the feature is configurable and extensible to all sorts of automated engagement and billing activity. Patient education materials: we've added a new feature to the care plan and discharge paperwork to automatically retrieve and generate patient education materials tied to visit diagnosis codes. This is similar to third party patient education material databases but is included for free to all Ottehr users. Global templates now include in-house lab orders and procedure orders, bringing us close to full order sets embedded directly within practice managed templates. Friendly patient identifiers. Non-engineers don't enjoy FHIR-style 36 character, alphanumeric GUIDs. Who knew. A host of other small improvements and bug fixes documented in the Ottehr change log.

    Ottehr 1.31 releases tomorrow. This is a huge update. 𝘉𝘦𝘵𝘢 𝘧𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦: Ottehr works with Claude code. You can vibe code entirely new features within the established framework of a production EHR.  Separate post on just how powerful this is, but if you want to school us on how an EHR should really work, and are comfortable with claude code, you can test the beta by commenting below. Predict patient responsibility in real time: When a patient arrives, and immediately after the visit, Ottehr will suggest exactly what should be collected based on patient's past payment history, deductible status, and the fee schedule for codes, initially assuming specified E&M code and then accumulating fees as more codes are added. In 95% of cases, this can eliminate patient AR. The entire patient responsibility can be accurately collected at time of service. Global template self admin: Ottehr practices can now build their own templates. Chart a progress note, click "add as template", and all the details, including codes, become embedded in a new template. External medication reconciliation: external patient medication data from Surescripts is presented in medical history with one-click reconciliation to the progress note. One click AI suggestions: When Ottehr's agentic intake, ambient scribe, or coding assistant make suggestions, you can now one-click discrete suggestions within the presented AI summary, like allergies or surgical history, to instantly add to the note. Smarter AI coding assistant: The AI coding assistant will consider all aspects of the note, including test results and procedures to much more accurately suggest specific codes that match the results, and there is now an Audit Review that flags coding concerns that may result in a denial or audit. Many other "small" features like direct integration of Stripe terminals into the EHR, better "left against medical advice" workflow support, better support for workers comp and occmed visits, and more.
