Today, we’re announcing new ways to help Oura Members better understand their bodies and take action for long-term wellbeing. What’s new in the coming weeks: - Cumulative Stress: A first-of-its-kind metric that shows how daily pressures add up over time. By combining Daytime Stress, Resilience, and recovery data, Members can see how their bodies adapt and recover — not just moment by moment, but across weeks. - Cycle Insights improvement: Expanding from a one month to 12-month view of period and fertile window predictions. Members now receive personalized insights from a single night of sleep. - Blood Pressure Profile study in Oura Labs: An IRB-approved investigational study to help identify early signs of hypertension. ŌURA will use this study to refine and validate a future feature for submission to the FDA for clearance.  - Redesigned Oura App: We’re making it easier than ever for Members to navigate their data, discover insights, and act on them. The updated experience helps Members stay connected to their wellbeing day to day. These updates build on years of research and product development at Oura, translating complex physiological signals into clear, meaningful insights that make it easier for people to take action. HRV and resting heart rate are two of the most important metrics for understanding recovery, stress, and overall health. According to a recent Men's Journal analysis of wearables, Oura Ring 4 had the closest alignment with ECG benchmarks for both HRV and resting heart rate. A 2025 peer-reviewed validation also showed that Oura devices achieved the top accuracy for HRV (CCC = 0.99) across tested consumer wearables. At Oura, we care about trustworthy insights, not vanity metrics. That’s why: - Oura calculates nighttime HRV by sampling every five minutes and averaging all valid segments, providing a more detailed view than a single snapshot. - The HRV you see in the morning is the mean of all valid nighttime samples, so it reflects your physiology across the entire sleep period. - Validation studies show that Oura’s nightly HR and HRV measurements have low bias and strong correlation with ECG reference data, especially when averaged across the full night.
