Ten artists of color from across the Los Angeles region are being honored by the Los Angeles Lakers as part of the team’s annual In the Paint art program that recognizes, supports and uplifts artists from historically marginalized communities. Local art and culture company Band of Vices, LLC, located in the historic Downtown Los Angeles Arts District, collaborates with the Lakers to promote and progress the In the Paint program. Since the program’s launch in 2020, the Lakers have connected with and recognized more than 50 local creatives by showcasing their artwork, purchasing works for the training center and providing $400,000 in grants to help further individuals’ artistic endeavors.
