In the heart of L.A., voices came together with one urgent message: 📣 Our health is not up for debate! During a recent press conference, community voices gathered at a local health clinic, where Representative Jimmy Gomez (CA-34) stood alongside L.A. Care, AltaMed Health Services, local physicians, and health care providers to sound the alarm on the devastating consequences of a House-passed tax bill that slashes Medicaid funding. An L.A. Care member bravely shared how losing coverage would affect his quality of life, adding a human face to what’s often treated as a political debate. His story served as a powerful reminder that cuts like these don’t just affect budgets—they affect lives. Under the bill, hundreds of thousands of Angelenos—including children, seniors, and people with disabilities—could lose access to essential care. L.A. Care remains committed to our members and will continue to advocate for the services and coverage they need and rightfully deserve. 🩺 See how we're working to protect Medicaid and why it matters: 🔗 https://lnkd.in/gvx4KNSt #MedicaidMatters #ProtectMedicaid #HealthCareIsAHumanRight #LACareHealth #RepJimmyGomez

“Losing health insurance would severely impact my day-to-day living...” shares Diane, a Medicaid recipient. 🩺 Raised by a single mom who also relied on Medicaid, Diane has seen firsthand how this coverage ensures access to mental and physical health she needs. Without it, getting care would be out of reach — with serious consequences for her well-being. We recognize the federal government faces tough budget decisions, but balancing the budget should not come at the expense of working families, seniors, and children. ⚖️👨👩👧👦 🎥 Watch real stories from Medicaid enrollees who share how this program has changed their lives. 👉 Learn more at lacare.org/MedicaidMatters #MedicaidMatters #HealthcareIsAHumanRight #ProtectMedicaid #LAMedicaid #MedicaidVoices #MediCal #WorkingCalifornians #HealthEquity #LACare #HealthcareForAll #LACounty #LACountyCare #CommunityHealth #CoverageIsCare #SaveMedicaid

For many gun violence survivors, life is forever changed by a moment they didn’t choose—but continue to live through every day. 💔 Their journeys are marked by resilience, the search for safety, and the strength it takes to heal. They remind us that surviving doesn’t just mean making it through the moment—it means navigating a lifelong process of recovery, reflection, and renewal. 🧡 This month, L.A. Care, and the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health’s Office of Violence Prevention are highlighting the powerful stories of individuals impacted by gun violence—whether through personal experience or the loss of a loved one. 🕊️ We stand with survivors and will continue to advocate for responsible gun safety laws, support violence intervention and prevention programs, and promote health equity to address the root causes of gun violence. 🙌 🔒 If you or someone in your community is interested in receiving a free gun lock, visit LockedAndUnloaded.org. #GunViolenceAwarenessMonth #WearOrange #SurvivorStories #EndGunViolence #HealingTogether #StopGunViolence #GunSafety
