MUSE is a large-format bilingual journal where photography, art, cinema and fashion coexist within a visual grammar rooted in Milan. It occupies a distinct position within independent fashion publishing, and its editor-in-chief, Fabio Crovi, has collaborated with some of the industry’s most renowned brands. The deliberate pacing between full-bleed imagery and considered text is one of the magazine’s defining characteristics. Redesigning musemagazine.it meant carrying the spatial generosity of the printed page into an easy-to-read digital architecture. We tried to avoid the kind of formal, and often predictable, cleanliness that dominates contemporary editorial design. We did, however, retain its minimal editorial approach. As you might guess we created a rhythm: images are expanding to specific widths following a pattern where height remains constant. Six verticals, from Fashion to Cinema, from Travel Documents to the retrospective Covers Archive, which forms a navigable timeline across two decades of back catalogue. Countless hours were spent refining every detail. It was our gift to MUSE. This level of attention is costly. This time, it was on us. We are certain the MUSE team will make the most of it, filling the platform with the marvellous content for which they are known. #WebDesign #EditorialDesign #ArtDirection #DigitalDesign

Il Salone Del Mobile has just come to a close. We went searching for inspiration, only to find brands comfortably repeating the expected or at least this was our impression. Are we just getting used to it? We used to visit the fair during the weekend, but this year we decided to come on Wednesday. The fair crowd moves differently mid-week, slower, more attentive, willing to truly see what is right in front of them. That quality of attention changed our entire experience. What struck us most was the lack of tension running through almost every hall: the distance between the effort invested in building a stand and the ambition to communicate something genuinely new. The muted palette, the creams, the dusty roses, the desaturated sage, was everywhere. Functional, sellable, and largely forgettable. A chromatic choice that signals continuity rather than position, and at Salone, continuity rarely makes the room stop. A few exceptions were highly intentional. Desalto brushed metal walls and blue klein seating arrangements made a definitive statement. Fisher & Paykel Appliances reconstructed the New Zealand forest, scent, sound, projection, grain and nested their appliances inside it like artifacts of a different civilisation with extreme craftsmanship. Fondazione Officine Saffi, at Salone Raritas, were building their installation as visitors walked through. The entire performance was simple, yet curated in every detail and we specifically appreciated the tobacco-coloured uniforms of Officine Saffi artisans. Tacchini’s stand carried Valentina Cemeranesi and Enrico Pompili’s signature: velvet, steel, smoked glass, a controlled intimacy that filtered the crowd before the crowd could dilute it. And Very Simple Kitchen offered something rarer still: a product so distilled it left no room to hide; meaning every detail had to be absolutely flawless. And it was. Salone is, at its core, a staging exercise. Every brand decides how much of itself to invest in that staging. Would you agree that you don't need to do much, but whatever you do has to be relevant?

How would you communicate a new ski collection? In the snow? No. Not always. It is essential to also have the courage to push boundaries. Let’s not settle for the ordinary, but try to offer a new language, a new vision, and a new perception of the brand. And it is exactly with this ambition that, at LaColonia, we curated the entire art direction for El Camös, from the ski graphics to the launch photography campaign. We wanted to radically break away from traditional skiing imagery. To convey the brand's inclination towards the unknown and unexplored horizons, we designed an aesthetic built on space-inspired atmospheres and deeply glacial tones. A suspended, almost alien environment, where the ski graphics emerge from the darkness. This approach requires perfect synergy, and in Michele Vangelista and Riccardo Stocco from slowphoto.studio we found the ideal photographic partner. Their technical sensitivity allowed us to translate the "lunar" imagery we had in mind into powerful, textured shots, highlighting every detail of our graphic design. 🪐 What do you think of this "space-inspired" approach? We're curious to hear your thoughts in the comments. #ArtDirection #GraphicDesign #CreativeAgency #LaColoniaStudio #Slowphoto #ElCamos #VisualIdentity #Backstage #CreativeProcess #BrandStrategy #SkiIndustry

Behind the scenes of the brand campaign shoot for the new El Camös ski collection. ⛷️ 📸 🎬 Between the standout runs of Argentière (Chamonix) and the thin air of Mont Blanc. And yes: we were genuinely moved. Day one wrapped in clouds. The ceiling dropped so low we could barely tell where the sky ended and the slopes began. The light wasn’t generous, so we made it the point capturing frames that push the familiar alpine narrative past the edge of the collective imagination. Day two stole our breath for good. Moving beyond 3,400 metres on Mont Blanc is hard to describe without sounding dramatic and yet, it is. Up there, the weather has a temperament: clouds race across the ridge; one minute you’re inside total white, the next the sky tears open and the sun warms your frozen face. We travelled single file, threading between crevasses and snow-laden rock walls rising like giants, stepping into terrain that felt uncharted. The perfect stage for extraordinary images. We made frames stamped with glacier cold, now woven into the visual world of El Camös. 🗓️ One year, many stories. In September 2024 we began collaborating with BROOKS ENGLAND on a new chapter for the brand. Jacopo Porreca was clear: Brooks needed to reclaim its authentic, iconic place in the cycling world, restoring its deep connection to Birmingham, where the legendary leather saddles are still produced since 1866. The mission was, and still is, to create a message that is honest, sharp, and distinct. To shift the needle by giving the stage to those truly passionate about cycling, not only as ambassadors, but as the team behind the brand itself. With the team we came up with concept like: Plastic bags are so 1995 / Need a lift? The C17 Porter can handle it / British not beige / It’s 愛細部へのこだわり You know what I mean? / It’s an iconic saddle incase you missed the point / Doing things our way since 1866. Still not in a hurry / … How much did we achieve in a single year? We certainly brought a real, visible, and recognisable shift for the brand. We’re grateful to Flavio Persico, Stef Amato, Ugo V., Joergen Trepp and Gregorio Allievi . It feels great to be part of the team, and we continue to learn so much every week. 🫡 As we often do, we brought what we do best: explore, experiment, and expand the creative brief. #brooksengland #iconicbrand #icon #cycling #england #artdirection #graphicdesign
