Today at zkSummit 14 in Rome, Diego Kingston gave a talk on Lambda VM, a minimal post-quantum zero-knowledge virtual machine built by LambdaClass, 3MI Labs, and Aligned Layer. He walked the audience through where the zkVM space stands today, what problem Lambda VM is trying to solve, how it is designed, how it handles memory and proofs, how recursion works, and what the team is currently shipping. It was a pleasure to have Diego represent the team on that stage.

The ethrex team was part of Soldøgn Interop last week in Svalbard, joining Ethereum core developers for a week long event focused on hardening Glamsterdam implementations to scale Ethereum securely. As our first interop, it was a great opportunity to contribute hands-on. The team shipped on every devnet from day one, launched on benchmarkoor, and collaborated across several efforts, including ePBS, BALs, EIP-8037 breakout rooms, and FOCIL, with plans to join its first devnet. Grateful to every team that made this experience both productive and memorable above the Arctic Circle.

El CCSD lanza su primer seminario académico: Teoría de Códigos, Low-Degree Testing y PIOPs. El seminario es una iniciativa conjunta con la Facultad de Ingeniería - UBA, la Facultad de Ciencias Exactas y Naturales, UBA y LambdaClass. Se desarrollará en cuatro encuentros presenciales quincenales de dos horas y media, entre mayo y julio, con sedes rotativas entre las tres instituciones. Los temas que se abordan — teoría de códigos, low-degree testing y PIOPs — son parte del núcleo matemático de la criptografía moderna y están directamente relacionados con el desarrollo de sistemas de prueba verificables y tecnologías de conocimiento cero. Investigadores del Centro de Criptografía y Sistemas Distribuidos, en colaboración con LambdaClass, presentamos CommitLLM: un protocolo criptográfico de commit-and-audit para verificar inferencia de modelos de lenguaje open-weight. El trabajo aborda un problema concreto: cuando un cliente envía un prompt a un proveedor que declara correr un modelo específico —por ejemplo, Llama 70B—, no tiene forma técnica de verificar que esos pesos fueron realmente utilizados, que el decoding no fue alterado, o que la respuesta entregada no fue modificada después de la inferencia. CommitLLM propone un enfoque práctico que evita los dos extremos existentes: el fingerprinting estadístico, que puede ser engañado, y los sistemas de pruebas sin divulgación de conocimiento, que son demasiado costosos para producción real. El protocolo mantiene al proveedor en el serving path normal de GPU, sin reescritura de kernels ni generación de pruebas por cada respuesta, y permite al cliente verificar en CPU con overhead acotado. El paper incluye mediciones sobre Qwen2.5-7B-W8A8, Llama-3.1-8B-W8A8 y Llama-3.1-70B-W8A8, con un overhead online de tracing de entre el 12 y el 14%, y un costo de verificación de 1.3 ms por token para Llama 70B en un audit rutinario sobre CPU. At Stateless Summit, our team was actively part of the conversation around the future of stateless Ethereum. Tomás Arjovsky and Ivan Litteri from the Ethrex team both took the stage, hosting a talk on our approach to stateless execution and joining the mini ACD panel alongside core developers from Besu, Nethermind, and Erigon Technologies. Across both sessions, they shared our work and perspective on some of the key challenges ahead, from how we think about stateless infrastructure to the role of optional proofs in making validators more accessible and scalable. We appreciate the invitation and the opportunity to be part of it.
