Next Tuesday, we're hosting The Mess & The Magic with Nashville Design Week — LWD is becoming Humans, Coffee & Design as we open our conversation series to everyone (men, women, non-binary — all are welcome!) to discuss the waves of navigating mess and magic of our creatives lives and careers. We'll have a panel of incredible local creatives to kick us off to share their personal experiences, followed by our one-of-a-kind Small Group Conversation series to discuss more personally. Today, we launched the new PMC Consulting Engineers brand & website. https://www.powermgmt.com/ While I'm so proud of what Lasso Studio created for this exceptional engineering firm, the personal backstory on this client connection is my favorite part. When I was a very Junior Designer, hungry to grow my skills beyond my agency day job, I was actively hoping for more "fun" design projects — I am still unsure how she found me (did I even have a portfolio then?), but an email appeared from Brandy Adams in my inbox. She was looking for brand design for her blog and shop Make & Model, exploring interiors, exotic textiles, vintage, fashion and more. Little did she know, these were exactly the type of realms I wanted to create within, and I got my first chance as a freelance Designer and Art Director for an inspired and creative client who trusted me. Our work and relationship showed me what alignment and a passionate client could open up for me as a creative, and the beautiful results this partnership could bring. She came to our wedding. I still own a set of beautiful vintage glasses I bought from her store. I use them to be "fancy" with our six year old daughter. Over a decade later: Allen and I are running Lasso as a husband and wife team. Brandy is also working with her husband as Director of New Business at PMC Consulting Engineers. She contacts us for another partnership and challenge: “Our existing branding doesn't actually match who we really are.” With over 30 years to build upon, we worked together to create clarity of who PMC is as a company, resulting in a confident rebrand and website that stands out within the industry. Their brand now matches and reinforces the quality, team culture and client experience that was already there. I'm so grateful for trust that could span over this many years. I'm grateful for the gift of expanding that into the leadership at PMC Consulting Engineers. Dash Bash was Awesome! 💯 We just came back from Raleigh, NC this weekend and are still so recharged and inspired. This conference is so fun and a good balance of learning, good times (party) and inspiration!
