It was a privilege to attend Climeworks’ Carbon Removal Summit in Zurich! 🌎 Mary Yap had the honor of sharing the stage with Christoph Gebald, CEO of Climeworks, the world's largest and oldest carbon removal company, and Diego Saez Gil, CEO of Pachama 🌲, to lead a discussion on on how we can combat climate change using durable and innovative methods. Their panel was called “𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘊𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘴 𝘌𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨: 𝘉𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘛𝘦𝘤𝘩 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘕𝘢𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘛𝘰𝘨𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳”. With 2024 reported as the hottest year in 100,000 years by Copernicus ECMWF, the need for accurate, fast, and high-quality solutions to combat climate change has never been more critical. Mary spoke on how transparency, scientific rigor, and innovative, Gigaton-scalable pathways are essential to driving this movement and catalyzing carbon removal at large scales. A diverse array of cutting-edge technologies is needed for us to hit global climate targets, and the technologies at the Summit represented some of the best. ⚡ The Climeworks Carbon Removal Summit embodied the exigency with which market innovators should approach climate change. Exciting news! 🎉 This week, Lithos Carbon has been named a semifinalist for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE)'s Historic Carbon Dioxide Removal Purchase Prize! 🏆 The Carbon Dioxide Removal Purchase Pilot Prize represents the first-ever direct CDR purchase by the U.S. Federal Government. 📋🏗 Semifinalists were selected by a team of technical experts at DOE and National Laboratories based on a detailed evaluation of technical, business, operational, and community benefit plan proposals that included input and feedback from domestic communities. 🚀🌎 Lithos is now showcasing our ability to permanently capture CO2 at-scale while competing to be one of 10 winners who will receive a Carbon Credit Purchase Agreement award for the sale of rigorous, high-quality carbon removal services to the Federal government. At Lithos Carbon, we're dedicated to working hand-in-hand with farmers to unlock the potential of high-quality, safe, and nutrient rich Enhanced Rock Weathering for a more resilient future. 🌍  We're proud that our nature-based approach to carbon capture is validated, safe, and trusted by farmers to spread on their land. 🌱👨🌾 As we’ve scaled Lithos' solution, we've invested in community-focused existing infrastructure that surrounds American farming, including local spreading, trucking, quarries, and soil sampling companies. It’s an exciting day for us here at Lithos Carbon - we're thrilled to announce a groundbreaking $57.1 million deal with Frontier Climate! 🎉 Buyers including Stripe, Alphabet Inc., Shopify, McKinsey & Company, JPMorgan Chase & Co., Autodesk, H&M Group, Workday, and Watershed have joined forces to purchase 154,000+ tons of scientifically rigorous, permanent carbon sequestration from us over the next four years. This marks Frontier's largest purchase agreement to date and stands as one of the most significant offtake agreements in the carbon removal market's history.
