🌍 𝗜𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲'𝘀 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗽𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗴? In 2016 I was in Zimbabwe. At the supermarket checkout, I was the only person paying with a credit card. Everyone else paid by phone. Mobile money - years before Apple Pay went mainstream in Europe. They'd skipped credit cards entirely. Out of necessity, and convenience. They leapfrogged. When the US ordered Anthropic to cut foreign nationals off its best models, a lot of people felt dependency for the first time. We have gotten used to looking to US providers by default. Now everyone's sharing lists of European providers to switch to. But don't just look for an alternative. Look for a better way to modernize. You can migrate your tech stack to a European cloud provider, or you can adopt an AI-native platform that makes you cloud-agnostic, handles the migration, and streamlines how you operate from then on. The migration becomes a small stepping stone. You can swap one provider's proprietary stack for another's. Or you can move to open source and abstract away from all of them. You can look at VMware alternatives like Proxmox. Or you can go all in on cloud-native. Then the actual switch becomes much easier because the layer underneath is an open standard. Kubernetes doesn't care what data center it's in. That portability isn't a nice-to-have, it's the entire point of cloud-native. We've run mogenius on regional clouds and the open-source stack. Because an open, portable control plane is the only infrastructure setup that survives a geopolitical surprise. 80% of Europe's cloud spend leaves for three US companies. European providers hold about 13%. That gap isn't necessarily a technology problem anymore. It's a matter of habit and priority. Leapfrog your infrastructure. Don't just shift it.

We built the Renovate Operator because we needed it ourselves. Dependency updates in Kubernetes are technically solved — Renovate CLI creates pull requests, the tool is solid. But once you're managing more than a handful of repos, central coordination is missing. No visibility, no scheduling, no native integration.
