Ok, Conference season is starting again. 🥳 After finding out that I was one of the poster images in newsletters and ads for WeAreDevelopers World Congress 2026 I want to make the most of my new gained fame. ;) In two weeks I'm going to speak at the WeAreDevelopers World Congress in Berlin again 🤩 🎤 Topic: When Humans Stop Writing Code: Rethinking Languages, Compilers, and Responsibility ⌚ July 9th 2026, 14:50 📍 Stage 11 🤸♂️ In short: 🤸♂️ We can generate whole apps from a sentence now, which is wild, but our languages, compilers and code reviews were all built for humans who actually read what they ship. After using AI way too much over the last 2-3 years, I changed my thinking from "I will be jobless in 2 years" to "It will need a lot less developers, but there is still need for people like me" ... at least until robots take over all of our jobs and the world in 3-4 years! So how will we write applications in the future and what quietly breaks when we stop writing it ourselves. Why is "the AI wrote it" a pretty bad answer when production catches fire? And what would the programming language of the future look like? What current language is closest to these ideals? I'm super excited to get on stage and overthink it out loud for a while. ☕ If you're going to be in Berlin (8-10 July) I would love to meet up and have a cup of coffee! ☕ (We got great coffee at the office and I am addicted now) ## More about the event: https://lnkd.in/d4PB7bSP #WeAreDevelopers #WeAreDevelopersWorldCongress #VibeCoding #AI #SoftwareEngineering
