Built by MetaCell, NeuroGlass is a Neuroglancer-based platform that brings Google Docs-style collaboration to volumetric imaging, making work reproducible and shared by default. "The Institute's mission depends on turning complex datasets into shared understanding across disciplines" said Forrest Collman, Associate Director at the Allen Institute. "Our teams are using NeuroGlass to help us treat visualization not as a private activity, but as an institute-wide workflow, where the context around a view is preserved and easy to revisit." The technique allows scientists to simultaneously measure the activity of up to nine distinct neuronal populations in freely moving mice, dramatically accelerating scientific exploration into how the brain controls behavior.
