We are pleased to welcome Dmitry Pankov to the Mifos Initiative team. Dmitry (Dima) will be joining Edward Cable and David Higgins for the year as our Business Intern. He will be interacting regularly with the community and partners in our ecosystem, as well as helping us with some exciting projects and a large project next summer. Here is Dima's Intro: Hello! My name is Dmitry Pankov, but I go by Dima. I was born in the United States, specifically West Seattle in the beautiful, green state of Washington; however, I come from a Russian background where I still have relatives living that I visit yearly and speak the language with. Some of my biggest hobbies are tennis, which I play at my university, and almost anything outdoors like skiing, hiking and backpacking. I’m currently in my second year at the University of Washington studying Finance and am extremely excited to work for Mifos Initiative as their mission aligns with many of my core values. Through many leadership opportunities in high school and early stages of my college career, I have always tried to make an impact within my local community, and when the opportunity arose with Mifos to continue my passion on a global scale, I had no hesitation in applying and wanting to be a part of such an amazing team. #community #interns #newteam #announcement

It was great that Yu Wati Nyi was able to be at FINOS #OSFFNY25 this week. She was able to first hand experience talks and network with others to build her network up. She even managed to meet our Selfie Challenge and grab one with Gabriele Columbro which just exemplifies the friendliness of the FINOS Community. Look out for Yu's blog on her experience shortly. #community #summerinterns #endlesssummerofcode

We’re excited to continue #ImpactInAction - a series spotlighting journeys of contributors from the Dedicated Mentoring Programme (DMP) 2025. Over three months, DMP 2025 brought together passionate contributors and mentors across organisations to collaborate on open-source solutions in the #DPG and #Tech4Good ecosystem. This edition of #ImpactInAction features Pranav Deshmukh, a student from VIT Vellore. With guidance from his mentor David Higgins and his team at Mifos Initiative, Pranav built an interactive interface that will allow developers and learners exploring Mifos’ products and services to understand complex tech systems through interactive, hands-on demos. It will host demo setups allowing users to perform actions & immediately see results. C4GT is an ecosystem initiative that enables development and long term maintenance of open-source products that are creating population scale social impact, DPGs and beyond, by facilitating pathways for young talent to contribute to these products. Well done Pranav Deshmukh, Abhinav kumar, David Higgins, Code for GovTech (C4GT). This summer we talked about #impact with our #summerinterns and how they can achieve this. This is a great example of what can be achieved together between interns, mentors and organisations that brings real impact to those that need it. #community #endlesssummerofcode
