𝐀𝐫𝐞 𝐰𝐞 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐚, 𝐨𝐫 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐡𝐨𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐭? Back in 2018, the IDC predicted that global data would hit 175 zettabytes. To put that into perspective, that’s enough data to wrap Blu-ray discs around the Earth 210 times. But as the data volume explodes, our ability to utilize it hasn't kept pace. The reality of our current data landscape is astonishing: • 10% of data is structured. • Only 5% of that structured data is actually analyzed and used. This means a massive portion of insights are left on the table every single day. In the last few years, North Data expanded its official company data coverage from a local level to 𝟮𝟰 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 across Europe. This expansion not only increases the number of companies you can search for, but it also makes your research more detailed, letting you find cross-border connections between companies and people. This detailed data is highly useful for investigative journalists, for example. It reveals companies with indirect international connections, making it easier for investigators to find shell companies and show links to tax haven countries. We publish all the sources we use to gather company data for each country, so you can check where your data comes from. Working alongside our Product Management & Professional Services team and our Engineering team, they already contribute to customer experience, research and data quality, as well as backend and frontend development. Ming Sum Yeung (University of Hamburg), Aslı Gürbüz and Fatema M. (both Leuphana University of Lüneburg) contribute to Research & Quality, supporting research, data quality, and knowledge base maintenance to help ensure the reliability and usability of our platform. Sogol Saleki(HAW Hamburg) contributes to Engineering, supporting backend and frontend development as well as API-related topics within our Data Services. At North Data, Working Students are an integral part of our teams - gaining hands-on experience while actively contributing to the development of products that support company data transparency across Europe. Next stop: Bonn! 📍 We’re honored to join the Cronn Rooftop Rendezvous on March 19th, where selected experts and innovators will exchange on the practical use of AI in today’s business environment. North Data was invited to contribute to the discussion on one key ingredient for making AI truly operational: reliable, structured company data. Representing us on site will be Viktoria Mykhailenko, who will show how North Data GmbH transforms the complexity of 150+ international data sources into company data ready for integration. Together with Toni Fetzer from cronn GmbH, we’ll explore how high-quality data and AI can move beyond experiments - enabling real automation and smarter core processes. Looking forward to the conversations ahead.

Data is shrinking. Risk is growing. From the consequences of court rulings on beneficial ownership registers to the growing reliance on leaks when public data disappears, the landscape of transparency is shifting rapidly. These developments create major challenges for investigations, sanctions enforcement, and financial transparency worldwide. To discuss these changes, we’re proud to share that Maike Schlumbohm, Director of Product Management & Professional Services at North Data GmbH, will join the upcoming BridgeGap Talk Series.
