Autonomous subsea monitoring technologies are at a pivotal stage - offering opportunities to enhance safety, streamline permitting, and strengthen environmental monitoring for offshore wind. Over the past two years, NOWRDC has partnered with state agencies under our Solicitation 4.0 to fund five innovative UUV projects that will be highlighted during this session. We’re excited to share that NOWRDC has announced over $8 million leveraged to fund seven new research and development projects through our Innovations in Floating Offshore Wind Solicitation 4.0. This solicitation was made possible by anchor funding from the California Energy Commission (CEC) and with support from the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) and the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC). This collaboration underscores the power of state partnership to advance innovation in floating offshore wind. The selected projects span technology development and environmental monitoring, with awardees including Sperra, Foss Offshore Wind, the Candide Group, Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute (MBARI), Orpheus Ocean, Teledyne Marine, and Geo SubSea LLC. This position will oversee a portfolio of R&D projects, support strategic initiatives, and collaborate with partners across industry, academia, government, and NGOs. Position highlights: - Lead competitive solicitations and manage a portfolio of grants - Oversee project progress, budgets, and impact evaluation - Foster strong relationships with grantees, stakeholders, and funders - Support the strategic growth and long-term goals of the Consortium This is a full-time, remote position.
