"What's similar to this, but cheaper?" 🛒 Chatguru answers questions like this one using your own product catalog.⚠️ It's Netguru's open-source AI chatbot for product discovery. Customers ask in plain language, and the bot finds matching products in your catalog before it writes a reply. That's retrieval-augmented generation (RAG): every answer is grounded in your real product data, which reduces made-up answers. Your team owns the code, so you control the technology, the data, and how the bot behaves. Krystian Bergmann, our AI Consulting Lead, gives you a sneak peek of Chatguru in the video. A static prototype shows how a product could look. A working one shows how it feels to use. 🎨 With vibe coding, designers can build a working version of an idea themselves and put it in front of stakeholders early. When everyone clicks through the same thing, it's easier to agree on the direction. Joann Wu, VP, Global Head of Product Design at Uber, sees this as the current trend in design. In this clip from Next in Commerce, she explains how it helps teams align. Watch the full conversation 👉 https://lnkd.in/djW_nCuP

Getting AI to work in a demo is quick. Getting it to move a business KPI takes much more. 📈 Our clients already see measurable results from AI in their businesses. Robert Scholz shares a few of those numbers in the video below. With AI Pod, we can get there even faster. Why? The coders are AI agents. The strategists are senior engineers. 🤖 Agents handle the coding, testing, and evaluations. Engineers design the architecture and own every decision. That's how a small team ships a production AI system in six weeks, fast and well thought through. You know the goal, the cost, and the timeline before the first sprint. Robert Scholz is Netguru's new CEO. 🎉 He takes over day-to-day leadership from co-founder Kuba Filipowski, who stays on Netguru's management board. Robert has spent more than ten years in software. Starting as a developer, he went on to lead delivery teams on e-commerce and custom software projects. In September 2024, he joined Netguru as Delivery Director and a year later took charge of all project delivery and operations. He introduced shared standards for delivery and profitability, and a way of working where small teams use AI at every stage of a project. Here's how Robert Scholz sees the road ahead: "When software gets cheaper, the things that are hard to copy become more valuable: trust, judgment, and expertise. Netguru has the people, the experience, and the ambition to help shape how AI changes our industry." Join us in congratulating Robert in the comments. 👏

After three years, I'm no longer the CEO of Netguru. Robert Scholz is taking over. I'm staying on as co-founder and a member of the Management Board. This is not a goodbye post, because what's happening to our industry is more interesting than my job title. A recent NBER paper estimates GenAI has lifted productivity in software development by around 32%. The obvious read: software companies just got 32% more profitable. The real read: in a fragmented, competitive market, most of that gain goes straight to clients. AI is the new baseline, not a new margin. Unlike the doomers, I'm optimistic. When something gets cheaper to make, we find more things worth making. The world won't build the same amount of software with fewer people. It will build much more of it. But I don't believe one person with 100,000 agents will sit in a room and build a jet aircraft alone. Complex things still need people who understand technology, business, and users, working together. That's exactly where companies like Netguru still matter. The biggest thing I learned as CEO: having an idea for how a company should change is easy. Making hundreds of people actually work differently is not. That's a big part of why I feel good about Robert. He doesn't delegate AI to an "AI team." He uses it, experiments with it, and brings structure to change. Thank you to everyone at Netguru who challenged me, told me when something wasn't working, and then went and did the work anyway. 🤘

Two days. One real business problem. Teams of three to four students with a prototype at the end. ⏱️ That's a Code Camp by Niepubliczne Technikum Programistyczne Techni Schools, and Netguru is joining this edition as a partner on 22–23 October. Techni Schools is a Technical College of Programming. Its students train as programmers and cybersecurity technicians through projects, mentoring, and work with tech companies. Past partners brought different problems. A raw materials company asked teams to predict metal prices and detect anomalies using import data, earthquake records, and online sentiment. A Scandinavian bank challenged them to automate daily processes with an LLM. On our end, Kamil Orłowski, Engineering Manager at Netguru, supports the partnership and makes sure the challenge is worth the effort. We'll look at how teams break the problem into parts, work through blockers, and present their work. Sleep is allowed. So are AI tools. We can't wait to see what the teams build. 🚀

What do you build first when the goal is to connect the world of sport? 🤔 That was the question on the table during a five-day discovery week in Warsaw with SportaaS. Clubs, athletes, fans, leagues, federations, and brands work across separate platforms. SportaaS wants to change that with one connected ecosystem. Our engineers, architects, designers, and product specialists spent the week with the SportaaS team working out where to start. The process: 1️⃣ Map the biggest problems across the sports landscape 2️⃣ Challenge assumptions 3️⃣ Use design thinking to narrow the focus to what to build first Thanks to Derek Stewart, Elias Charara, Dana Dar, Kevin Mascarenhas and David Whitby FIOD for a week full of big questions. And to our workshop team for the high-intensity work: Patryk Szczygło, Agnieszka Hyla-Pochrzęst, Adam Lach, Kamil Orłowski, Emilia Charatonik, Nazar Ostrowski, Mateusz Jankowski, Przemysław L., and Barbara Rybicka💪

European ecommerce hit €911 billion last year. The interesting part is where it grew slowest. New figures across 38 countries show total B2C turnover up 7% in 2025. The regional split tells a different story. Western Europe holds 57% of all European turnover and grew the slowest, at 5%. Eastern Europe grew 14%. The shopper data points to one reason. 📍 74% of Europeans aged 16 to 74 now buy online, up a single point in a year. Northern Europe is at 85%, Western Europe at 84%. Southern Europe sits at 63% and Eastern Europe at 60%. In the most mature markets, few people are left to convert. Growth there increasingly has to come from existing shoppers buying more often or spending more per basket. 🛍️ More on what that means for retailers in this issue of Next in Commerce 👇

An e-commerce brand getting ready for Black Friday and an insurer handling claims both want a chatbot. The brand needs it live before the traffic hits. The insurer needs control over every answer, because one wrong reply can turn into a complaint. SaaS, custom, or a mix of both? A few questions about your own business point you to the right path, and your answers shape launch time, budget, and room to grow. 📈 Krystian Bergmann, our AI Consulting Lead, shows which areas to explore before you make that call.
