AI adoption is already happening across UK industries. But the reality is far more nuanced than the headlines suggest. Some organisations are creating genuine value with AI. Others are struggling with fragmented systems, unclear strategy and growing governance concerns. After Dolo spoke with leaders across manufacturing, energy, utilities, education, law and technology, we pulled together the biggest themes into one blog: “AI: The good, the bad and the ugly.” A practical look at what’s really happening with AI in business right now. Over the past few months, we've been speaking to leaders across manufacturing, utilities, education, construction, professional services and technology about how they're really approaching AI. What we've found is a mixed picture - some organisations are seeing meaningful results, some are struggling with fragmented adoption, and others are facing growing concerns around governance, trust and operational risk. Most are somewhere in between. That's why we're hosting our upcoming webinar: The good, the bad and the ugly of AI. A practical discussion on what organisations are really experiencing with AI adoption today - we'd love to have you join us. 📅 Tuesday 23 June ⏰ 11:00am BST Register via the link in the comments.

The real secret to AI adoption? Your people. 🧠 Most AI rollouts fail because employees are hesitant, not because the tech is bad. This quick guide by New Icon shares how to successfully build team buy-in by focusing on task automation, launching an "AI Champions" program, addressing data security, and leading by example from the top. 👉 Read the full guide: https://lnkd.in/dJS3UiY6 #ArtificialIntelligence #ChangeManagement #FutureOfWork

This week, Josh McComish took to SUBCON 2026, and his biggest takeaway? Manufacturers aren't asking whether they should adopt AI anymore - they're asking how to make it deliver measurable business outcomes. The conversation has shifted from experimentation to implementation, with a growing focus on connected systems, Edge AI and real-world operational impact. The organisations seeing success are the ones building the right foundations first: strategy, architecture, data and processes designed around business objectives. Thanks to everyone Josh met and spoke with throughout the event. If you didn't get a chance to speak with Josh on the day but you're exploring how AI, Edge technologies or digital transformation can drive real business impact, get in touch - we'd be happy to continue the conversation. #Manufacturing #AI #DigitalTransformation #EdgeAI #Industry40
Great to attend SUBCON 2026 this week at the NEC. The biggest takeaway? The challenge in manufacturing is no longer whether to adopt AI and digital technologies, but how to turn them into measurable business outcomes. From connected factories to Edge AI deployments, the emphasis was on practical implementation and real-world results. Many manufacturers have moved beyond experimental proof-of-concepts and are now focused on turning innovation into measurable business outcomes. Achieving this requires the right foundations…data, architecture, and processes to be designed with the business case in mind from the outset. And where else would you find a pub (complete with a pool table 🎱) right next to the Innovation Stage?

We've been talking a lot about AI governance recently, with some great insights that also came out of our recent AI governance roundtable... so of course, Dolo had a lot to share following the recent UNESCO and Thomson Reuters Foundation report on Corporate AI Adoption! Touching on the importance of human insight being a key part of any AI strategy, to the checks we could put in place for responsible use of AI - have a watch of this video for some of Dolo's key takeaways. Last week, Josh McComish headed to Birmingham for Utility Week Live 2026 - spending time exploring the latest conversations, challenges and innovations shaping the utilities sector. From infrastructure and digital transformation to AI, data and operational resilience, it was a great opportunity to hear directly from industry leaders about where the sector is heading next. For us, events like this are always valuable. They’re a chance to listen, learn and better understand the real-world pressures organisations are navigating as they look to modernise systems, improve efficiency and build for a more real-time future. Thanks to everyone who took the time to chat with Josh across the two days - event roundup coming soon! #UtilityWeekLive #Utilities #DigitalTransformation #AI #Innovation #RealTime #Infrastructure #UtilityWeek
