Updates

  • Today we launched WHOIS Monitor on nslookup.io 🎉 It watches the things that usually go unnoticed until it’s too late: → Expiration date (alerts at 15 days, 7 days, and day-of) → Registrar changes (strong signal of transfer or hijack) → Nameserver changes → DNSSEC posture → Registrant org & country Because “is it up?” isn’t the only question that matters. Sometimes the real question is: “do you still own it?” 🔗 https://www.nslookup.io

  • 🚀 API Monitoring on nslookup.io Most uptime tools tell you “the server responded with 200” — and call it a day. But what if the server returns: {"status": "degraded"} That’s still a problem. So we built API monitoring with real assertions: → Verify status codes, headers, body content, and response time → JSONPath assertions like $.user.id exists, $.items.length >= 1 → Multi-region checks across 7 global probes → Per-monitor charts: pass rate, p95 latency, status code distribution → Independent alert toggles (mute API alerts without losing uptime alerts) All of this runs on top of our existing uptime infrastructure — meaning the same probes that monitor your DNS now verify your API contracts. If you're already using tools like Postman Monitors or Checkly — give it a try. 🔗 https://www.nslookup.io

  • 🚀 DNS infrastructure, now native to your AI workflow.                                                               We just shipped the nslookup MCP server — bringing our full DNS, security, and monitoring API directly into Claude, Cursor, and any MCP-compatible client.                                                                                           No more copy-pasting between tools. Just ask:                                                                                                                                                  → "Check the SSL cert for stripe.com and tell me when it expires"                                                    → "Is example.com propagating consistently across global resolvers?"  → "Run a security scan on my domain and flag anything critical"                                                     → "Show me uptime for my site from 28 locations worldwide"                                                                                      What's inside:  🔍 DNS lookups across 28 global servers (A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT, NS, SOA, CAA, DNSKEY…)                                        🌐 DNS propagation checking with consensus scoring                                                           🔒 SSL/TLS certificate inspection + expiry alerts  🛡️ Security scanning (SPF, DMARC, DNSSEC, headers)                                                           📧 BIMI/VMC verification for email brand authentication  📊 Multi-region uptime monitoring                                                                    📍 GeoIP + webserver fingerprinting  💚 DNS health diagnostics                                                                                   The same engine that powers nslookup.io — now wired into the agents you already use every day.                                        Built on the Model Context Protocol so it works wherever you do.                                                               👉 Try it: https://lnkd.in/dCfjmhUV  👉 API docs: https://lnkd.in/dsG6__v3  Would love feedback from anyone running DNS, SRE, or security workflows through AI agents. • Most DNS problems stay invisible until they break email, certificates, or failover. 5 issues we see again and again: 1. DNSSEC enabled, but no DS record at the parent zone 2. MX records point to hostnames that do not resolve 3. No CAA records in place 4. Nameservers concentrated in a single IP range 5. TTLs set to 60 seconds everywhere without a clear reason None of these are exotic. Most are just easy to miss. We built a free DNS Health Checker to make them visible: 39 checks across 7 categories, with severity-weighted scoring and no signup required. • 🆕 Product Update. As nslookup.io continues to grow, we’re evolving the monitoring experience to better support customers managing large numbers of domains. As multi-domain usage increased, two issues became more important: alert noise and flapping. Too many repeated notifications during the same event make it harder for teams to identify what actually matters. To address this, we introduced a dedicated Incident layer in the monitoring system. With this update: ✅ alerts are filtered and aggregated more intelligently ✅ users are less likely to be flooded during ongoing incidents ✅ related events are grouped into a clearer incident view ✅ teams can review more detailed alert and incident context directly in the dashboard The goal is simple: reduce noise, improve clarity, and help users respond faster to what really needs attention. 🚀

  • 🚀 Major Update to nslookup.io Now More Than DNS Recently we’ve rolled out a major upgrade to nslookup.io. What started as a powerful DNS lookup tool is now evolving into a broader domain intelligence and monitoring platform. New capabilities include: 🔹 Domain & Website Uptime Monitoring 🔹 SSL Certificate Monitoring (expiration alerts included) 🔹 VMC Certificate Monitoring 🔹 DNS Monitoring The goal is simple: Give developers, DevOps, MSPs, security teams, and domain owners real-time visibility into the health and trust signals of their domains - in one place. nslookup.io processes hundreds of thousands of lookups monthly, and this update is a big step toward making it not just a lookup tool, but a proactive monitoring platform. We’re just getting started. 👉 I’d love your feedback. What monitoring features would you like to see next? What would make this indispensable for your workflow?
