We are thrilled to introduce our latest issue, Summer, Issue 105. On the cover is Guillaume Côté, who is set to take his final bow as principal dancer with The National Ballet of Canada. Inside the pages, we continue to celebrate all that is Canadian, showcasing Balmoral, the Montreal-based sportswear label; contemporary artist Sara Cwynar, known for her multilayered photographs and films; novelist Georgia Toews; chef Vish Mayekar of Vancouver’s Elem restaurant; and architecture and design firm Future Simple Studio, founded by Christine Djerrahian. Beyond our borders, we travel to Tuscany’s Il Pellicano hotel, where Marie-Louise Sciò is the creative director of the jet set summer hangout; and to Paris’s Grand Palais for Saut Hermès, the annual show-jumping competition where the French brand showcases its saddle-making roots. We are thrilled to introduce the latest edition of NUVO, #Issue104. In her introduction to the issue, editor Claudia Cusano writes about spending time with Francis Kurkdjian, the perfume creation director at Dior. In a career that has spanned 30 years creating fragrances that hit the right notes, he attributes his continued inspiration to a basic principle: “You have to seek. Inspiration is the result of the questions you ask to yourself or to someone else.” For this spring edition, Issue 104, Canadian actor Adam DiMarco is our cover star, and as we discover in the story, he is done playing the nice guy. Since The White Lotus, the floodgates of opportunity have opened, and the homegrown actor is “getting to experiment with a bunch of genres or forms,” including the dropping of an EP under the moniker Good One, an alt-pop project he started with his friend.
