  • At Bauma 2025, Scania introduces electrified power solutions in the industrial segment – a clear demonstration of our dedication to transforming the efficiency and sustainability of the construction and mining industries. Scania’s unique offering provides a complete in-house developed solution for parallel hybrid operation, with a master power unit controlling it all, including the e-machine, inverter, batteries and internal combustion engine. “We are committed to helping our customers with their sustainability transformation,” says Björn Winblad, Director of e-Mobility Solutions at Scania Power Solutions. Our partnership with the Italy-based company Cometto to launch a fully-electric self-propelled modular trailer (SPMT), is one example of that commitment. The SPMT is designed to move large and heavy goods, powered by Scania’s electrification solutions. It marks Cometto’s first SPMT with an electric powerpack, following years of operating with Scania internal combustion engines. Scania's Head of People & Culture, Jeanna Tällberg shares her thoughts about the current debate about diversity and inclusion.

    View profile for Jeanna Tällberg

    Executive Vice President and CHRO

There is an intense debate right now about diversity and inclusion – in media, in politics, and across the global business world. Today, during an interview with Swedish Public Service news, I felt proud. Proud to be part of the leadership team at a global company guided by strong values. Proud to represent a company where Respect is not just a word – it’s something we live and breathe, every day. Proud that we stand firm, even when the public debate grows intense. At Scania Group we know that multiple perspectives and an inclusive culture make us stronger – as individuals, as teams, and as a business. Our strategy is called Skill Capture. It’s how we continuously improve our culture and leadership – making sure we unlock the full potential of all the competence within our organisation. We always recruit based on competence. But we also know that true equal opportunity doesn’t happen on its own. It takes commitment, courage and constant focus. And we will continue to do just that. Because for us, this isn’t about following trends – for us it’s business as usual. It’s the Scania Way❤️

  • The service technicians are at the heart of the operations at Eastern Creek. As one of two Scania branches on the outskirts of Sydney, it is a hub where the employees refine their craft and push each other to become even better professionals. Here, being a service technician means more than a job—it's about growth, expertise, and opportunities. The Scania service technicians work with cutting-edge technology and collaborate in a team that values skill and precision. The work is hands-on in a dynamic setting. Technicians are encouraged to develop through advanced training and complex problem-solving, making it an ideal career for those eager to learn and grow. A great opportunity for Scania service technicians is the prestigious Top Team competition—a chance to test their abilities against the best and showcase their expertise globally. Branch Manager Chris Nobbs knows the challenge well, having competed six times—three of which took him overseas for the global finals. This year, Eastern Creek will enter with two teams. Although Chris won’t be competing this time, he remains a passionate advocate for the competition and the profession. "Top Team is an amazing experience. I can think of nothing better than the thrill of competition, pitting your skills against others for the supreme victory as 'the best'," he says. Looking back at the times he participated, Chris shares his insights: "There is a lot of work required to be successful, but what we gain from it is hugely motivating. I have also learned to be extremely thorough, follow the process and trust my team." Interested in a career as a service technician at Scania? • Is Space Scania’s next business area? And will the Nöörds’ toy truck manage to independently navigate a test track? Scania Hack is an annual event where employees can experiment with new ideas, solve problems, and drive innovation during a two-day hackathon. The event is held in Södertälje, Sweden, with 50+ teams attending, but teams also join digitally from other parts of the world, and this year, China hosted its first Scania Hack in Rugau. This year’s theme for Scania Hack is: Dream it, Do it, Love it. "Looking back at Scania’s history, we have always been part of the next step in transport solutions. We would like to explore how Scania can transfer its existing knowledge, technology, and solutions to the space industry," says Evy Svensson, Enterprise Architect, in team ‘Scania in Space’ which is exploring the potential for a new business opportunity. While Evy’s team focuses on future business ideas, Peter Atterfjäll and Per Sundbäck, in the Nöörds team are refining their project from last year’s Scania Hack: a self-driving toy truck. "We are building on last year’s results to turn this toy truck into a flexible, modular, robust, and well-designed vehicle. It’s a great learning opportunity to understand the different challenges involved in building a truck”, says Peter Atterfjäll, Information Risk & Complience Officer. The main focus with Scania Hack is to encourage creativity and innovation. As a bonus awards will be given in five different categories: People’s Choice, Best Presentation/video, Most surprising idea, Best Team spirit, Elimination of waste.
