Synergy team members have been training hard in preparation for the Corporate Regatta in October 🚣♂️ 🚣♀️ Appropriately named the 'Synergy Shovelers' our rowing crew have been treated to some spectacular sunrises and sunsets as they braved the cold waters of the Swan River this winter. #teamwork

Synergy encourages charities, social enterprises and not-for-profit organisations who have an initiative which they believe will make a difference to apply for a 2024 Community Giving Fund grant. In 2023, Synergy awarded a grant to Operation Sunshine WA. “The incidence of Family and Domestic Violence in Western Australia is constantly increasing, which has a direct impact on demand for the essential care packs we provide. "Utilising the grant from Synergy we were able to provide essential support to more women and children escaping FDV at a time when they really needed it.” For more information about the Community Giving Fund, including how to apply for a 2024 grant visit: https://lnkd.in/gWVezsTp

Yesterday we hosted the Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, Minister for Climate Change and Energy Chris Bowen, WA's Minister for Energy Reece Whitby and Member for Collie-Preston Jodie Hanns MLA at our Collie Battery Energy Storage System (CBESS) site. The Prime Minister and Members of Parliament joined our Deputy CEO Kurt Baker on a tour of the Collie battery site. Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) can absorb excess energy generated by rooftop solar PV systems when the sun is shining and discharge when demand for electricity peaks usually in the evening. CBESS will be Synergy’s third BESS and one of the biggest in the world, providing around 500 Megawatts (MW) of power or 2000 Megawatt hours (MWh) of energy. #renewableenergy #energytransition

Project Symphony won the Energy Award for Innovation at last week’s 2024 WA Energy Awards. Project Symphony successfully integrated customer-owned Distributed Energy Resources (DER) such as rooftop solar, batteries, and major appliances into a virtual power plant (VPP). This groundbreaking pilot was a collaboration between Synergy, Western Power, Energy Policy WA, and the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO). Congratulations to our other award nominees and finalists, with special mention to Teresa Maguire, Commercial Development Manager who won Young Energy Professional of the Year. Seeing tangible change in the energy sector and finding opportunities for win-win situations inspires Teresa. #energyawards #Synergy #ProjectSymphony
