Veterans Community Project is changing lives, one tiny home at a time. Each pet-friendly, fully furnished home is part of a supportive community that includes wraparound social services to help U.S. military veterans regain stability and independence. Earlier this month, Philip Morris International U.S. proudly supported the groundbreaking of VCP’s newest village, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Featuring 40 homes and a community center, this is VCP’s sixth site nationwide. With an 85% success rate in transitioning veterans to permanent housing, this model is making a real difference. PMI U.S. has supported several VCP Villages across the country, and we’re honored to continue standing with this outstanding organization in supporting those who have served. Philip Morris International U.S.'s 2025 U.S. survey results are clear on what the public wants from large companies today: 🔹 Americans want CEOs to take public stands (68% favor), but without revealing their personal politics (58% don’t want to know). 🔹 Americans aren’t satisfied with one-off charitable donations. Instead, they want companies to listen before acting, engage in local partnerships, create jobs, and maintain a sustained community presence. Here’s how we are translating those findings into action: 🔹 Our CEO, Stacey Kennedy, and other leaders are forging close partnerships with local and national organizations that are already doing good work on the ground. 🔹 Our pragmatic philanthropy approach isn’t random. To maximize our impact, we focus on two main areas of support: 1) addressing the needs of military veterans and their families and 2) promoting workforce development and economic resilience. We cannot solve every problem, but by streamlining our efforts, we can make a measurable difference on issues of critical importance to our employees and communities. Since 2022, our U.S. businesses and employees have contributed more than $35 million to nonprofits nationwide. 🔹 We’re contributing as builders, not bystanders—with announced investments of over $800 million in U.S. manufacturing projects, creating thousands of direct and indirect jobs and revitalizing communities. 🔹 We’re co-designing programs with civic leaders and members of the communities we seek to serve. 👉 Listening isn’t passive—it’s catalytic. It transforms good intentions into measurable impact. Congratulations Kristine Huskey and the Veterans’ Advocacy Law Clinic (VALC) at the University of Arizona, James E. Rogers College of Law—recipients of the U.S. Department of Justice’s Access to Justice Prize. With this grant, the VALC will expand its Rural and Tribal Veterans Outreach Project in Arizona. At Philip Morris International U.S., we invest in long-term solutions addressing critical areas of need, with a particular focus on military service members, veterans, and their families. It’s our honor to partner with the VALC and three other law clinics nationwide to ensure the legal needs of those who have served our nation are met. Next week, we proudly celebrate the 250th birthday of the US Navy and honor the brave service members—past and present—who have dedicated their lives to protecting our nation. As we mark this historic milestone, we encourage everyone to take a moment to thank—and consider how they, too, can support—those who have served. At Philip Morris International U.S., we’re honored to partner with organizations like the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society, the Bob Woodruff Foundation, and Rocky Mountain Veterans Advocacy Project, supporting veterans and active-duty personnel across all branches. From providing emergency financial assistance to military families to helping veterans access the benefits they’ve earned, these organizations deliver tangible outcomes in high-need areas. Honoring the military community must not be an empty gesture. Through our commitment to pragmatic philanthropy, we are invested in long-term, sustainable solutions that address critical gaps in support. 📣 According to our 2025 PMI U.S. Philanthropy Benchmark Survey, the No. 1 mistake companies make in community engagement is failing to listen, followed by acting in ways people perceive as purely PR-driven. At Philip Morris International U.S., we’re proud to side with nuance over noise—partnering with local leaders, supporting skills training and other investments communities ask for, and establishing roots for the long term. Real impact begins with curiosity, not assumptions. That’s why we embed listening sessions before deploying resources and why our philanthropic contributions focus on community-identified priorities—from economic empowerment to disaster response. 🎯 Our message: We see you. We hear you. And we are ready to build with you, not just for you. #ListeningToLearn #CommunityPartnership #InvestedInAmerica #PragmaticPhilanthropy

In our white paper, "The Fifth Estate Flourishes," Philip Morris International U.S. explores how two-thirds of people globally now rely on nontraditional news sources—and how this new "Fifth Estate" shapes opinions and actions. Public sentiment reveals both empowerment and risk: 67% say they get information from these independent outlets, and 90% discuss what they learn with family and friends. Meanwhile, 56% worry about misinformation from these sources. That’s why our approach is twofold: 1. We actively listen to these independent voices through focus groups and peer-to-peer engagement. 2. We share back—using scientific transparency and open dialogue to help ground discussions in fact as we pioneer reduced-risk alternatives. Our goal? To meet communities where they are and join—not hijack—the conversation. Read and download our white paper here: ➡️ https://lnkd.in/eqMdPWym #FifthEstate #DigitalListening #PublicHealthDialogues
