We are thrilled to share that CIGeography’s detailed map of Taiwan was presented to President Lai by the Inter-Parliamentary Alliance on China (IPAC). The gift was presented during IPAC's 2024 Summit in Taipei, attended by nearly 50 cross-party lawmakers from 24 countries. Each lawmaker signed the map within the de-facto Taiwanese ADIZ, the only portion of the ADIZ where incursions are reported by the MND. Notable signatories included Olivier Cadic, Reinhard Bütikofer, and Sarah Champion. The map displays Taiwan's internal (within the baseline) and territorial waters (up to 12 nautical miles from the baseline) as well as its ADIZ, both claimed and de-facto. Pretty good visualization of several of the different wars going on in Africa's #Sahel region, using data from the Armed Conflict Location & Event Data Project (ACLED). When people talk about the "War in the Sahel", they're usually referring to that biggest conglomeration in the west, but other distantly-related conflicts like the "Boko Haram" insurgency (big conglomeration east of center) are also happening in the Sahel. Left off of this map: the civil wars in Sudan and the Central African Republic.
