I've been building the Payara Community since the very beginning - it's been one of the most rewarding parts of my Java and Jakarta EE journey and definitely one I'm most proud of. All the contributors, committers, JUG members, developers who help us build both Payara & Jakarta - filed issues, gave talks and kept showing up - that community is something special. So today's announcement means a lot to me personally. Payara Platform Community is now Azul Payara Community. Same open source project, same people, same values - just with a new name and a much bigger platform behind it. And here's the thing I want to be clear about: the community isn't going anywhere. If anything, this is the most exciting moment for it yet. More investment, more engagement, more presence at Java events and JUGs, more fun projects, more content, more of everything that makes an open source community worth being part of. We're just getting started! Read the full update on where we are and what's coming here: https://lnkd.in/eHuqRjiv #JavaEE #JakartaEE #Java #JavaDeveloper #PayaraCommunity Azul Payara

Azul Payara Server 7 is here - the first commercially supported Jakarta EE 11 runtime to achieve Final TCK certification across all three profiles: Full Platform, Web Profile and Core Profile. You can read more on https://lnkd.in/eP4Vqeva ...but here's a quick summary: ✅ Jakarta EE 11 certified - all three profiles, fully supported under enterprise SLAs ✅ MicroProfile 6.1 out of the box - Config, Health, Metrics, Fault Tolerance, JWT, OpenAPI, REST Client, Telemetry Tracing ✅ Jakarta Data - the headline EE 11 addition, bringing the @Repository annotation and a standardised data access layer to your stack ✅ Zero migration pain from Payara 6 - the jakarta.* namespace is stable, so it's a runtime upgrade, not a rewrite ✅ JDK 21 minimum, with Docker images for both JDK 21 and JDK 25 ✅ Same .war runs on both Payara Server and Payara Micro - no changes needed #JavaEE #JakartaEE #Java Payara Azul #JavaDeveloper

I’m here today and until early afternoon tomorrow, together with the Azul team at our booth - feel free to stop by! I’ve already caught some excellent Jakarta EE - focused sessions from Luqman Saeed , Emily Jiang & Rustam Mehmandarov and also did a short interview on the importance of community contributions, the strength of the community ecosystem, Payara and Jakarta EE . Shout out to the Eclipse event team - the venue, setup and overall atmosphere are really well done! #Java #JavaEE #JakartaEE #PayaraCommunity #OCx2026
