So glad I made it to our final stop of the PacBio PRISM world tour in Fukuoka, Japan! It has been a busy few days covering sessions and catching up with our community here. 🇯🇵 The supper club dinner at a 150-year-old sake brewery was a major highlight. Day 1 of PacBio PRISM wrapped up with a special evening at Ishikura Shuzo’s Hakata Hyakunen-gura. Built in 1870, this historic brewery provided a meaningful backdrop for our community to gather and connect. 🍶🇯🇵 The evening was a celebration of local Fukuoka heritage, featuring a traditional Chindon'ya welcome and live music. It was the perfect setting to step away from the technical sessions and focus on the networking that drives our industry forward. Connecting with so many innovators in such a storied space was a highlight of the tour. Day 1 at PacBio PRISM in Fukuoka, Japan was an incredible start! 🇯🇵 Our morning sessions set the stage with a deep dive into the future of population genomics across Asia. It was a powerful look at how large-scale data collaboration can transform our understanding of human biology and complex disease. The afternoon featured a global perspective with research highlights spanning from the AMER and EMEA regions to right here in APAC. We also explored new ways to scale genomics for precision medicine, including workshops on automation and high-performance chemistry to make whole genome sequencing more accessible and cost-efficient. These were just a few highlights from a day filled with breakthrough research and insightful conversations.
