We’re thrilled to share that Pachama is joining the Carbon Direct family! Today we’re announcing that we have been acquired by Carbon Direct , the global leader in science-driven carbon management. This key milestone is a testament to all of the hard work and dedication of the Pachama team, who have worked closely with clients, partners, and others in the ecosystem for years to develop our proprietary platform and technology to help drive funding to high-quality nature-based climate solutions. Our technology will help support the work Carbon Direct is already doing, and we’re excited to be a part of a company with a shared vision and goals. As we transition from this phase to the next chapter, we want to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who has been part of this journey. The mission continues! I'm very excited for the unveiling of the shared vision of the #VCM+ Coalition, of which Pachama is a proud member. This is a global initiative to build the next-generation verified carbon market, unifying and accelerating action across the carbon market ecosystem. The vision is anchored in five pillars: ✅ High-Integrity Science ✅ Robust Oversight ✅ Trusted Communications ✅ Targeted Finance ✅ Scaled Demand It aims to deliver 5 billion cumulative tons of CO₂e reduced or removed between 2026 and 2035 and mobilize an additional $100 billion in climate finance, across voluntary and compliance systems while restoring trust, improving outcomes for communities and nature, and building a high-integrity, equitable, and scalable market. This is the result of years of gatherings of the best minds in the market, whom with the best intentions for all came together to tackle the biggest challenges and establish the strongest foundation from where to build for the decades ahead. With today's GPT-5 launch, we’re getting a glimpse of the next wave of AI — agentic, offline, multimodal, and deeply contextual. What could this mean for AI for Nature? - “Virtual land scouts” identify regions prime for investment based on factors like soil, slope, wildfire risk, growth potential and community input - Scenario models: Simulate trade-offs between sustainable land use interventions under different climate and economic futures. - Intervention design: You set your goals, AI designs implementation plans that balance ecology, finance, and equity, all based on region-specific datasets and community knowledge. - Progress trackers: Assemble years of satellite imagery, documents, eDNA and more to objectively summarize changes in a landscape over the years What else could you dream up?

Today, across South America, families and friends gather to honor Pachamama (Mother Earth) by offering her food, drink, and gratitude. Many kneel on the soil, and place offerings of corn, coca leaves, and chica, all to give thanks for the immense bounty she provides. Let us use today to reflect on this ancient bond between people and planet. As we look ahead, may we channel all our ingenuity to heal and restore nature — the most profound life-giving force we will ever know. Happy Pachamama Day. 📸 Joseycha Ramos, Sarhua, Ayacucho Peru
