I'm enjoying the AWS Community Day 2026 in Sofia, Bulgaria. From the very beggining, following the deep dive into AI agents and their apllication to FinOps problems in the field. Kamen S. opened the day with MCP agents pipeline and it was full of details with real world examples. Heartfull thanks and I will be looking for more details in the future. Ivaylo Vrabchev set the tone even higher with real demonstration of AI FinOps pipeline, along with explanation on tokens usage and making the resuls value as a measurable outcome! For me, personally, it is an eye opening experience and I'll be following Ivaylo very closely in the future as his presentation was very concise and insightfull. Thanks to Daniel Rankov and Ivaylo Bratoev for making this happen. True magic this sunny morning in Sofia! Congrats for the 10 years celebration for the local AWS Community, you've just got a new member :) #AWSCommunityDay #AWSBulgaria #FinOps #AIFinOps

Our Ivan and Anton are at Cloud Native Days Austria (#CNDAustria) these days, an event we love so much and have been visiting for years. The opening talk about paragliding around the world, from Alaska to Patagonia, unveils a truly unique perspective on the clouds compared to what we normally think in the engineering community 😂 Looking forward to the second day of this fantastic conference! 🙌

If you think software engineering is hard, try running a marathon! 😁 Well, to be honest, that’s *not* what actually happened to our DevOps engineer, Viacheslav. His love for running and more (think of a triathlon) has been around for years. Thus, joining the latest Einstein-Marathon in Ulm was natural. We even think that surpassing his personal record (now less than 3 hours and 50 minutes!) was quite natural, too, simply because of his truly determined and diligent character. Absolutely pleased to have such an inspiring engineer at Palark. Well done, Slava! 🤗👏

Next week, we will be participating in #SBCSummit 2026 in Lisbon! As always happens wherever the #Palark team is heading, we're bringing our thoughts and insights on Platform Engineering, SRE, and DevOps to everyone interested. If you're around, find our booth at the Startup hub area — it's S16. Let's meet and talk about your challenges in operating cloud and server infrastructure, Cloud Native software, AI hype… and, perhaps, sunny Portugal? 🌞👋

💡 #Kubernetes is a big thing, so unconventional use cases are emerging. One Reddit user recently shared the story of leveraging Kubernetes as a platform for Virtual Desktop Infrastructure. You heard it right: orchestrating containers to run desktop software. The abcdesktop project, dubbed a desktopless service, implements the following approach: - each user session is a Kubernetes Pod; - each Pod run an X11 server (TigerVNC), a WebSocket-to-canvas bridge (via noVNC JavaScript library), and the end-user apps, such as browsers and office suites, launched as ephemeral containers; - user's web browser becomes an endpoint device where HTML5 is used to display the rendered graphical content received via an encrypted WebSocket stream. In this case, Kubernetes helps with limiting resources available per session, network isolation (via Cilium for network policies), persistent home directories, and various authentication methods (LDAP, Active Directory, OIDC). Some cool desktop features that are also supported in this project include sound, clipboard syncing, and printing. You can also run Windows applications using Wine. Sounds… fun, to say the least, doesn't it? 😇

Talos Linux will run virtual machines natively Using the same platform to run containers and virtual machines is becoming natural. Thus, seeing the latest news of #Talos adding support for VMs isn't so surprising. However, their approach is unique: instead of building on top of KubeVirt, they opted for a native solution (a KVM-based hypervisor) built into Talos Linux. Because they say that using #Kubernetes for virtual machines brings "unnecessary complexity" to infrastructure operators. Actually, they go even further, skipping Kubernetes for other use cases. Talos Linux will now be able to schedule containers directly, without K8s. This capability should be useful for edge deployments, and Talos Omni, the fleet-management plane from Sidero Labs, can help manage such setups. This sounds like a truly exciting path for the product! However, this news comes with a more disturbing announcement of Sidero Labs joining Yardi, a big software company that hasn't been widely known in the Cloud Native community before. They say Sidero will operate as a standalone company and that Talos will remain #OpenSource, which is great. Such big changes are always disturbing, though, aren't they? So the community will surely watch for the next actual steps…
