This past Saturday, we wrapped up our fall session at the USO at Fort Belvoir with a memorable visit from an inspiring STEM role model! Christina Lam, an Engineer with the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency and a Racecar Driver/Coach, spent time with our 3rd-8th graders, sharing insights from her unique career journey. 🏎️👩🔧 Christina spoke about her engineering work and the challenges she has faced and overcome as a woman in motorsports. Her story of resilience and passion left our students motivated and excited to pursue their own goals—whether in STEM fields, sports, or beyond. 💪💡 Thank you, Christina, for showing our students what’s possible with hard work and determination! #WomenInSTEM #STEMEducation #InspireTheNextGeneration #USO #FortBelvoir #STEMrolemodel #womeninSTEM #STEMeducation

We’re thrilled to be featured in Commercial Integrator for our collaboration with #COWAVITS and Aurora Public Schools! Together, we created an unforgettable, hands-on #STEM initiative that reached 850 fourth-grade students across nine schools, sparking curiosity and building confidence one STEM kit at a time. By using our fun and interactive harmonica kits students explored the science of sound waves! A huge thank you to our partners, including Mersive Technologies, Shure Incorporated, and industry leaders and school partners Erica Carroll, CSM, Jennifer Goodyer, CTS, Bradford Benn, Christie Mitchell and Junho Doo who made this district-wide program possible. This is just the beginning. We’re committed to continued engagement, making STEM careers accessible and visible to ALL students, and inspiring the future workforce. This Halloween season, we're shining a light on four incredible women whose STEM careers might just send a chill down your spine—in the BEST way possible! Meet the women who are blending science, curiosity, and a touch of the spooky to break boundaries in their fields: Margee Kerr - A sociologist who studies why we crave fear and thrills. From haunted houses to thrilling rides, she explores the science behind what makes our hearts race. Edith Widder - A marine biologist who explores the dark, mysterious depths of the ocean. She was the first to capture footage of a giant squid, and she studies bioluminescence—the eerie glow of deep-sea creatures. Nina Tandon, PhD/MBA - CEO of EpiBone, Inc. where she grows bones from stem cells. Her work blends cutting-edge science and a bit of sci-fi, making customized bone repairs possible. Doris A. Taylor - A pioneer in regenerative medicine, she’s bringing the future to life by growing lab-made organs, offering a new hope for transplants. Think: a modern-day Frankenstein, but for a good cause! These women prove that STEM is full of fascinating, sometimes eerie, but always groundbreaking discoveries. At Rosie Riveters, we believe in inspiring the next generation of girls to explore the full spectrum of what STEM has to offer. Want to learn more about how we empower girls to build their confidence and critical thinking skills through engaging, hands-on STEM programs? NBC News highlights a key issue: how #confidence impacts girls' paths in #STEM. Our programs encourage productive struggle, turning mistakes into growth, and hands-on projects that build problem-solving skills and confidence. 📣 How are you helping girls embrace learning, even when it’s tough? Drop your thoughts, tag a friend, and join us in supporting what we do to inspire the next generation! #WomenInSTEM #GirlsInSTEM #STEMConfidence #GrowthMindset #EmpowerGirls #STEMEducation
A recent NBC News piece highlights a critical issue: how #confidence influences girls’ paths in STEM and why so many young women feel uncertain about stepping into these fields. https://lnkd.in/ezMfSrfA Have you ever hesitated to apply for a job or take on a speaking opportunity because you didn’t feel completely ready? It’s a common pattern: while men often step up when they see their skills have potential, women tend to hold back until they’re certain they can excel. This difference starts early. At Rosie Riveters, we’ve seen how girls’ natural academic abilities and maturity can lead to a perfectionist mindset—one that causes discomfort with making mistakes and lowers confidence in areas where they don’t immediately excel. This can deter them from exploring STEM fields, where trial, error, and problem-solving are essential. 🛠️ We’re working to change that: •We create a space for productive struggle, showing girls that missteps are part of learning, not failures. •Our hands-on projects build critical thinking and problem solving skills, fostering a growth mindset from a young age. Confidence is one piece of the puzzle—but it will take all of us, working together, to change the participation and retention of women in STEM. We need to continue encouraging environments where girls can explore, make mistakes, and grow. 📣 Let’s keep the conversation going: How can we support girls in STEM and reshape their relationship with learning? Share your thoughts, tag a friend, and join us in inspiring the next generation! #WomenInSTEM #GirlsInSTEM #STEMConfidence #GrowthMindset #EmpowerGirls #STEMEducation #STEMAdvocacy
