  • Most hotels still judge their revenue team on one question: How much did we sell? Juan Olaya thinks that's the wrong question. Juan Olaya was the Director of Revenue Strategy for LATAM at OUR HABITAS, a brand of experiential luxury hotels. At properties like theirs, F&B, wellness, recreation and transport can make up to 50% of total revenue. So pricing only the room misses half the picture. We asked Juan for one belief most luxury revenue directors would disagree with. His answer was: "Instead of talking about revenue, we should be talking more about profit." Doesn’t that sound more logical? Yet most teams still chase the top line. He gave a simple example. He would rather sell 800,000 with a lower acquisition cost than a million with a high one. The first number looks smaller on the top line. But more of it reaches the bottom line, and that's what owners actually feel. He also asked a question we haven't stopped thinking about. Hotels learned dynamic pricing from airlines 30 years ago. So why are restaurants and wellness still priced flat? Selling more is easy to celebrate. Keeping more is what builds the business . We had a great conversation with Juan about pricing peak events like January in Tulum, balancing direct and OTA bookings, and where AI actually helps revenue teams. RaftLabs has been recognized by Comparably for Happiest Employees 2026. Of all the recognition a company can earn, this one feels especially special to us. It's based entirely on anonymous feedback from our own team. We build web, mobile, and AI products for startups and growing businesses across the globe. The quality of that work comes down to the people doing it, and to whether they enjoy doing it. This award belongs to everyone on our team. Thank you for the ownership, the care, and the standards you bring to every project. We're grateful to have a team that makes RaftLabs a place we're proud to build together.

  • Think about the last restaurant you went and had a meal or dinner. What do you remember? We bet you remember the food and the experience, not what was happening in the kitchen. Hospitality is no different. We recently spoke with Vahan Papoyan, Deputy General Manager at Deluxe Holiday Homes. They manage over 700 holiday homes across Dubai and the other emirates. For a guest, a booking is one click. But for Vahan's team, that click kicks off a whole chain of work: housekeeping, an inspection, maintenance if something's off, and someone there to greet the guest in person. Now do that 80 or 90 times a day. And in Dubai traffic, because the next apartment isn't two floors up. It could be across the city. The guest sees none of it. They just see the result. Vahan explained it from the guest's side: "Property is good, but there is dust in the corner. And as an experience for me, it's like I paid for this property to be clean." The interesting part for us was that he didn't use the complexity of managing hundreds of properties to justify the problem. He went back to what the guest expects. The best work behind the scenes is the work nobody notices. The guest has paid for a clean property, so that's what they expect. They don't need to know how many people were involved in getting it ready. That's the challenge of scaling hospitality. The work gets bigger, but the guest experience should stay simple. We had a great conversation with Vahan about keeping guest experience at the top as you scale, where AI can make hospitality more personal, and what he learned about leading a growing team. • We have something to celebrate. Clutch has recognised RaftLabs as a Top Wearable App Developer for 2026. Awards are always nice to receive. But they also make us think about the work that got us here. A lot of people still think wearable technology starts and ends with the device. Our experience has been different. The hardware is only one piece of the story. The important part is what happens after the data is collected. We recently worked on a remote patient monitoring solution where AI and wearable technology came together. The challenge was helping healthcare providers monitor patients beyond hospital visits and get access to useful health insights at the right time. The solution helped improve the decision-making process and reduced clinical decision-making time by 20%. This is the type of work we enjoy at RaftLabs, taking a complex problem and finding a practical way to solve it. Thanks to Clutch for recognising our work, and thanks to our clients for trusting us with projects that have a real purpose. Here's to building more of them.

  • In hospitality, the room is only one part of the trip. The real reason people travel is usually somewhere outside the hotel. That is where SNÖ Hotels seems to understand its role very clearly. They were not trying to become the destination. They wanted to help guests experience it better. We spoke with Ana Sánchez, Revenue Manager at SNÖ Hotels in Spain. Their story started seven years ago, from the CEO's love for skiing. He had worked in sales at well-known ski resorts in Andorra, so he knew the market and the gaps. SNÖ Hotels started in the Pyrenees, serving many beginner skiers. Those guests had a good first experience and kept coming back. Then they entered Galicia, a very different market. This time, they were serving pilgrims walking the Camino de Santiago. Ana explained it well: "The key for us is being there when the client needs us, because the real experience is enjoying nature. We are the complement." That line stayed with us. They are not trying to replace the journey. They are trying to support it. Guests may forget the room number. But they remember how the journey felt.
