A Global Turning Point for Circularity 🌍 #TheGlobalCircularityProtocol (#GCP) has just been launched at COP30 Brazil — marking a historic milestone for the global circular economy. Spearheaded by the WBCSD – World Business Council for Sustainable Development, the UN Environment Programme (UNEP-WCMC), and the One Planet Network (OPN) — and backed by over 50 global corporations including IKEA, Philips, and Apple — the #GCP establishes the world’s first standardized framework for measuring and reporting on circularity. ♻️ Rooted in Systems Thinking The GCP recognizes that material use and impact are shaped by interactions across four interconnected systems: corporate, environmental, economic, and social. It targets four main considerations: ✅ Close the loop – reduce virgin resource use and minimize waste ✅ Narrow & slow the loop – optimize material consumption and extend product life ✅ Impact of the loop – connect circularity to climate, nature, and social benefits ✅ Value the loop – quantify economic value and competitiveness 🤝 Built for Collaboration, Designed for Scale Circularity is systemic — it requires engaging partners, suppliers, policymakers, and value networks to close, narrow, and extend loops. The GCP facilitates collaborative action and scales circular solutions across R-strategies (refuse, rethink, reduce, reuse, repair, refurbish, remanufacture, repurpose, recycle, recover). According to the 2024 Global Impact Analysis, the GCP has the potential to deliver unprecedented benefits across environmental, social, and economic dimensions: 🌱 76 gigatons CO₂-eq emissions reduced 🌫️ 11–12% annual reduction in PM2.5 air pollution (2026–2050) ♻️ 120 billion tons of materials saved At Regeneration.VC, we’ve been anticipating this shift. Our Circular and Regenerative Impact & Sustainability Protocol (CRISP: https://lnkd.in/eMytHwcF) — developed with Circle Economy, a GCP contributor — already measures Linear Resource Use Avoided (LRUA) across companies in our portfolio. We’re proud to be aligning with the GCP and help define the next era of measurable, regenerative impact. 🔗 Explore our latest Impact Report: https://lnkd.in/eMytHwcF 🔗 Learn more about the GCP: https://lnkd.in/eK8BVWWa #CircularEconomy #GlobalCircularityProtocol #Sustainability #RegenerativeEconomy #SystemsChange #ImpactMeasurement #CircularMetrics #ESG #SustainabilityReporting #GHGProtocol #RegenerationVC #CRISPFramework #CircularInvesting #ImpactInvesting #MeasurableImpact

BIG NEWS‼️ Regeneration.VC led an oversubscribed $10M Series A investment in Hullbot, a #DeepTech company decarbonizing maritime activity through world-leading underwater intelligence 🌊 Responsible for carrying 80% of global trade, maritime shipping accounts for 3% of GHG emissions and 80% of invasive species transfer. Driving this footprint is the drag caused by biofouling, an accumulation of organic growth on a ship’s hull and other submerged surfaces. While low-carbon fuels and electrification remain years out from scaled commercial deployment, the multibillion-dollar opportunity lies in plain sight: maintain a clean hull. Hullbot reimagines hull maintenance as an autonomous service powered by breakthrough physical AI. Proprietary underwater vision navigation system “Theia” enables the fleet to maneuver, adapt, and clean with surgical precision, while compounding subsea datasets and delivering radical efficiency improvements over incumbents. As the business soars past 1,000 paid cleanings, Hullbot has earned its gold standard reputation within the passenger ferries beachhead market. Across geographies, vessel types, and coatings, customers are confirming unprecedented 10-26% fuel savings. Series A proceeds support next-generation product development, fleet expansion, and commercial coverage in top global ports. We’re joined by a global syndicate of mission-aligned investors including Katapult Ocean, Climate Tech Partners, Oceankind, Folklore Ventures, and Rypples. 🇦🇺 Headquartered in Sydney, Australia, Hullbot is led by Co-Founder & CEO Tom Loefler, an industrial engineer and naval architect by training, with support from a passionate team of roboticists, engineers, and marine enthusiasts. On behalf of Series A investors, Regeneration Principal Destana Herring joins Hullbot’s Board of Directors, with Partner Jamie Rowles serving as Board Observer. Thanks Katie Fehrenbacher and team Axios for sharing the good word! #PhysicalAI #Robotics #Oceans

🚀 Big news! Our portfolio company Colorifix just won H&M Group's New Growth & Ventures "Achievement of the Year award" alongside Klarna at H&M Group Ventures' third annual Entrepreneurs Day. By "making the impossible possible everyday,” Colorifix is rewriting the rules of textile dyeing. Using advanced synthetic biology, they’ve engineered microbes that produce color pigments and fix them onto fabrics. The result? A dyeing process that dramatically reduces chemical use, slashes water and energy consumption, and maintains industry-quality standards. Their technology addresses one of fashion’s biggest sustainability challenges—textile dyeing is notorious for massive water use and pollution. To get this award is a testament to the hard work, vision and impact-driven mindset of the Colorifix team. Congratulations to the whole Colorifix squad, recently celebrated at the Entrepreneur’s Day and Dinner ceremony in Stockholm. 🌱 #Sustainability #ClimateTech #FashionTech #ImpactInvesting #Regeneration #Colorifix #HM
