As summer draws to a close, we say a fond farewell to our incredible #interns. The past twelve weeks were a whirlwind of collaboration, innovation and fun, all culminating in the annual Intern Showcase where they presented their impactful work to the entire company. We’re immensely proud of their accomplishments and the lasting contributions they've made to Rivian. For many, this wasn’t a typical #internship. "Rivian is just one of those places where you can feel at home,” shared Amina El-Zatmah, a Mechanical Engineering intern. “I never felt like 'just an intern'; I was an integral part of my team from the start, and I feel as though my projects had a real impact.” For Isabel Vargas, a Material Science #intern, who at the showcase shared her project on developing standards for Digital Image Correlation, said, "It's been amazing to learn new equipment and to be the first to test it out, even as an intern!" Abigail Ibarra, a Manufacturing Engineering intern, expressed her gratitude for the guidance she received throughout the summer. “My managers and mentors continuously encouraged me to collaborate with others and to remain curious as I worked through problems to help prepare for R2's next steps.” A special shout-out to all the teams who mentored this year's cohort — your dedication to their growth is what makes this program so special. As our interns transition back to their academic lives, we want to thank them for their dedication and incredible work. We are grateful they chose to spend their summer with us, and the impact they've had on our teams has been immense. A new East Coast Headquarters is coming to #Atlanta! This office will open in late 2025, followed by further expansion in 2026 as construction accelerates at our #Georgia manufacturing facility. This unique office and lobby, Rivian Commons, will be utilized as a community space to bring customers, partners, families and friends through the Rivian experience, will serve as the knowledge center for our #GA manufacturing facility and will be our first location to showcase an R3 Design Studio Exterior Model. And that's a wrap—another spectacular Rivian Friends & Family Day for the books! We had so much fun this past Sunday celebrating our incredible employees, their families, and all the amazing successes we’ve accomplished together. Our Normal, IL plant was buzzing with family-friendly activities, vehicle exploration (including a peek at R3/R3X!), plant catwalk tours, a flower truck offering complimentary bouquets, live music, and the crowd favorite dunk tank. "This is a fantastic event that gets better every year!” said Marina Hoffmann, Chief Communications Officer. “It’s incredible to see Normal employees coming together to celebrate our milestones and accomplishments with their families."
