If you use Cloudflare and want your website to show up in AI search on ChatGPT, Claude, Google AI Etc... Turn this setting off RIGHT NOW. Last week I checked out a clients robots.txt during an AI Visibility Audit and found this: User-agent: ClaudeBot → Disallow: / User-agent: GPTBot → Disallow: / User-agent: Google-Extended → Disallow: / And a ton of others too... Translation: AI Crawlers are not allowed to train on your site. This wasn't controlled by their WordPress website, but instead via Cloudflare. Cloudflare now blocks AI crawlers by default. Sounds great for "protecting your content" until you realise it's the same content you WANT ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews to read and cite. You can't get featured in AI answers if you block the bots that read your site. Here's how to fix it. 1. Cloudflare dashboard → pick your domain 2. Go to "AI Crawl Control" (older accounts: Security → Bots) 3. Find "Block AI bots" / managed robots.txt 4. Turn it OFF Then verify it worked: yourdomain.com/robots.txt If you still see "Disallow: /" under the AI bots, it didn't save. Try again. If you spent the last year on SEO and content, don't let one default toggle hide you from where search is actually going. For more tips and advice on how to improve your AI Visibility.
