  • Join us and AdAstra Sustainability on Tuesday, October 13 to dive into how food, beverage, and consumer goods companies are preparing for the LSRS. The Land Sector and Removals Standard will be on every food, beverage, and consumer goods sustainability team’s plate. It changes how you account for land-based emissions and removals, and it raises the bar on measurement across your supply chain. Even when you can’t trace every ingredient, better FLAG and land use change measurements show where your reduction opportunities are and help set your products apart. Join us to hear: 🔹 An overview of the LSRS from Xavier Bengoa with a deep-dive into land use change 🔹 How to break emissions into FLAG categories, including for packaging 🔹 How to use AdAstra's Orbae data, and what it enables 🔹 Where you can build product-level measurements, and how to account for missing info in your supply chain As always, we’ll save time at the end for any and all audience questions. • Companies are adopting AI faster than the emissions data is improving. Most still can't reliably measure the footprint of their AI use, making it harder to set targets or find ways to cut it. But two choices drive most AI emissions, and companies control both today: 🔹 Which model you use. A large reasoning model can use roughly 30x the electricity of a smaller one for the same task. 🔹 Where it runs. The same model can be more than 5x as carbon-intensive depending on the grid that powers it. Our Head of Science, Dr. John Bistline, talked with Sustainability Magazine about how 20 years in energy systems modeling shaped Watershed's AI emissions framework, built with researchers at Stanford and Tsinghua. The framework is tiered: teams can start with a dollar figure from an AI vendor invoice, then sharpen the estimate as better data becomes available, without starting over. 📢 The EDCI is excited to share that Watershed is partnering with the initiative this year as an ESG Data Platform Partner, which will enable EDCI insights to be viewed within their platform.     "Watershed is a sustainability AI platform that helps the world's most impactful companies and financial institutions measure, report on and reduce their corporate and financed emissions. Recently selected as a leader in sustainability management by Forrester and Verdantix, Watershed automates data management for climate and ESG data, produces audit-ready reports, and helps companies surface decarbonization options. It uses purpose-built for sustainability AI, to help companies get to actionable data up to 80% faster and has the largest built-in sustainability database on the market with more than 2.3 million emissions factors covering 95% of the world's GDP.     Watershed is dual-headquartered in London, U.K., and San Francisco, CA, with offices in Berlin, Denver, Mexico City, New York, Paris, and Sydney. They work with 5 of the 6 top US banks, 3 of the 8 top European banks, the top four insurance brokers and companies like Amtrust Financial, BBVA, Visa, and The Carlyle Group."

  • Join us and PACT (Partnership for Carbon Transparency) on Thursday for a webinar diving deep into product carbon footprints (PCFs). Companies are under more pressure than ever from customers and regulators to build and share product-level measurements. But PCFs have advantages beyond compliance. They give you credit for actions your supply chain is already taking that wouldn't show up in spend- or activity-based measurements. That means your corporate Scope 3 inventory can reflect that your tier 3 supplier uses regenerative agriculture, recycled cotton, or clean power. PCFs also enable action. In Watershed, you can easily simulate the impact of procurement and product design decisions, like swapping in a new material or supplier. Join us to hear: ➡️ How, when, and why companies build PCFs ➡️ An overview of PACT from @ Isobel Farnsworth, PACT's adoption and enablement manager ➡️ Exactly how to build PACT-conformant PCFs in Watershed As always, we'll save time at the end for any and all audience questions. Thursday, October 8 · 11:00 AM ET / 4:00 PM BST  Register ➡️ https://lnkd.in/gXUE96gf

  • We studied some of the world's highest-performing corporate climate programs. Tomorrow, October 6, we're sharing what they have in common. Join us for the 2027 Strategy Summit, a 90-minute virtual session covering: 🔹 What the strongest programs get right on governance, targets, and reduction (and where even leaders fall short) 🔹 Scope 3 strategies that cut emissions while growing revenue 🔹 Clean power investments that deliver both reductions and ROI 🔹 Five actions you can take before year-end Can’t make it live? • That’s a wrap on PRODURABLE 2026! 🇫🇷 After two busy days in Paris meeting with sustainability teams and talking about how AI is showing up in their work, one theme came through clearly: AI is most useful when it solves a real problem, reduces repetitive work, and gives people more time to focus on action. In our Tuesday session, Watershed’s Camille Belliat joined Soumyanetra Mondal of Forvis Mazars Group and Charlotte Lambert of Dataiku for a practical conversation on how sustainability teams are putting AI to work today. As Charlotte put it: “The goal is not simply to use AI. It is to deploy it responsibly, with safeguards in place and a clear understanding of the value it is meant to create.” For Soumya’s team, that has meant using Watershed to reduce the manual work involved in cleansing and structuring financial data and matching it to relevant emission factors. “With Watershed, we estimate that we saved weeks, and possibly months, of manual work cleansing and structuring our financial data and matching it to relevant emission factors. This improved our scope 3.1 and 3.2 calculations and gave us more time to focus on engaging our priority suppliers.” Less time spent processing data means more time to act on it. Thanks to Soumya, Charlotte, and everyone who joined us at PRODURABLE! #PRODURABLE #PRODURABLE2026

There’s nothing like #NYCW to remind us of the importance and joy that in-person gatherings can bring. Last week we hosted: 🔹 A CSO lunch and fireside chat on AI's opportunities and trade-offs with Nicholas Thompson, CEO of The Atlantic, and Megan Smith, CEO and co-founder of shift7 and former CTO of the United States. 🔹 A networking breakfast with 60 sustainability leaders at MoMA. 🔹 A reception for finance, investing, and insurance leaders, with talks on the ROI of sustainability from sustainability executives at Goldman Sachs, Wells Fargo, and BlackRock. Not ready for the in-person magic to end? Same. 🍷 Our Wine About Sustainability series is back this autumn, heading to Boston 🦞 , Toronto 🇨🇦, Chicago 🌭 , Atlanta 🍑, Dublin ☘️, Helsinki 🇫🇮, and Zurich 🇨🇭. Join to swap notes, vent, and clink glasses with peers who get it. These are only open to in-house corporate sustainability leaders. Want a seat at the table? DM us or reach out to your Watershed contact. More cities coming soon!

  • On October 1, Verdantix Research Director Ryan Skinner joins Watershed experts for a practical conversation on what’s changing in scope 3 measurement: including how AI can accelerate the work, where existing solutions fall short, and how carbon data can support procurement and cost savings. Scope 3 is often the hardest emissions data to measure—and some of the most valuable to act on. Join us to learn what to prioritize as scope 3 programs evolve.
