  • When you deploy a new version to production, do your active user requests get abruptly cut off, or do they finish safely? In production-grade services, a Graceful Shutdown is essential to prevent data corruption and broken user transactions. If you're building in Go, cleanly draining HTTP connections and stopping background workers simultaneously can get tricky. Our engineering team at Wawandco just dropped a practical guide covering exactly how to handle this: • Intercepting SIGINT and SIGTERM signals. • Cleaning up active database connections and HTTP requests. • Using sync.WaitGroup and contexts to coordinate safe exits. Keep your deployments seamless and your user experience uninterrupted. • Behind technical excellence, it’s all about how we grow together. 🧠✨ That’s why we created La Cumbre. But what is it exactly? It’s more than just a getaway—it’s a dedicated space designed to strengthen our culture, build trust, and evolve the way we work as a team. 🏔️🚀 For our clients, this translates into direct value: delivering software through an adaptable, collaborative team that is constantly learning and alignment-driven. 💻☕ This is just a glimpse of our experience. Stay tuned for more content from La Cumbre 2026! 👀🔥 #Wawandco #CompanyCulture #SoftwareEngineering #TechTeams #TeamBuilding #LaCumbre2026

  • Hiring software developers the traditional way is slow, expensive, and high-risk. In fact, 40% of new hires leave within their first year. Think about the time, onboarding energy, and budget lost in that cycle. You don’t need a 90-day recruitment process; you need to hit your product milestones now. At Wawandco, we bypass the hiring friction by giving you immediate access to dedicated expert teams of engineers and designers. We don't just send you resumes—we deploy fully aligned, high-performing talent ready to build this week. 🎯 Scale fast: Skip the sourcing and screening. 🚀 Minimize risk: Avoid the costly turnover trap. 💡 Focus on delivery: Get the exact expertise your product requires. Stop the hiring churn. Let’s build. Get an expert team on your side today: 🔗 https://buff.ly/oIFBkqU #TechLeadership #SoftwareEngineering #StaffAugmentation #Staffing #Wawandco

  • Flaky tests don't just slow down your deployments—they destroy team trust in your CI/CD pipeline. If you are building concurrent systems in Go, you know the pain of using fragile time.Sleep hacks to test timing-dependent code. Go 1.25’s new testing/synctest package changes the game. By creating an isolated "bubble" with a synthetic clock, it makes concurrent tests 100% deterministic. We put it to the test at Wawandco. The results? 📉 Test execution dropped from 47 seconds to 127 milliseconds. 🛑 Flaky CI failures dropped to zero. Our engineering team just published a practical guide on how to implement it, handle context timeouts, and test background workers without data races. Stop guessing if your CI failed because of a bug or a bad timer. Read the full technical breakdown on our blog. https://lnkd.in/e2zZ8DU9 #GoLang #SoftwareEngineering #TechLeadership #CI #Wawandco

  • Hiring freelancers one by one is a great way to lose product velocity and add management headaches. 🧩❌ Marketplace platforms love to sell you on the "top 3%" promise, but they leave the burden of onboarding, managing, and maintaining team continuity entirely on your shoulders. At Wawandco, we do things differently. We don't just throw isolated resumes at you; we embed fully integrated, senior engineering teams ready to ship production code in exactly 7 days. If you are currently evaluating how to scale your engineering team predictably without the marketplace lottery, we wrote this deep-dive guide for you. We analyzed the market's top options so you don't waste time or budget. 👉 Read and share the full comparison here: https://buff.ly/02iH1m1 #SoftwareEngineering #StaffAugmentation #SaaS #Golang #Wawandco

How fast can you ship when you actively fight over-engineering? 🚀 For our recent team retreat La Cumbre 2026, we needed a custom scavenger hunt app. We could have gone the "standard" modern route: React, a separate Postgres database, OAuth, and a massive cloud infrastructure. Instead, we chose a hyper-focused, pragmatic stack: ⚡ Go + HTMX + SQLite 📦 Deployed as a single binary on one VPS via Kamal The result? We built and launched Scavo in roughly four hours with the help of AI coding assistance. No microservices, no unnecessary boilerplate—just software that worked perfectly for the event. In our latest blog post, we dive into: 1️⃣ Why we deliberately chose a lightweight architecture. 2️⃣ How AI accelerates boilerplate, but human judgment still drives the design. 3️⃣ Why engineering leaders need to know when not to build complex systems. Oh, and because we believe in giving back to the community, we open-sourced it under the O'Saasy license! 🛠️ #GoLang #HTMX #SQLite #WebDevelopment #SoftwareEngineering #OpenSource #Wawandco

I had an incredible time with the Wawandco team and our special guests from Symbol Security this past week. At Wawandco, we know how important it is to take a "pit stop", a moment to tune up the human connections that serve as the invisible infrastructure behind the digital progress we build. "La Cumbre" is exactly that space. I’m already looking forward to the next edition! A huge thank you to everyone at Wawandco, specially Yesica Villalobos and my team at Symbol Security for making it so memorable.

The best software teams aren't built by hiring the right people. They're built by investing in how those people work together. Google's Project Aristotle studied 180+ teams to find what separates high performers from the rest. The answer wasn't technical skill. It was psychological safety; the trust to take risks, ask questions, and be honest without fear. That's the belief behind La Cumbre. This May, we gathered at Parque del Café in Armenia, Quindío for La Cumbre 2026; our fourth edition. For a few days, we stepped away from pipelines and pull requests and focused on what actually drives delivery: 👥 Cross-functional challenges. The full team. Same problems, full autonomy on how to solve them. Collaboration isn't a soft skill, it's infrastructure. 📱 Scavo - our own app. We build software, so we built the experience. Scavo is our internal scavenger hunt platform, purpose-built for the Cumbre. Teams navigated challenges and submitted evidence as they went. 📈 The outcome. Teams that trust each other don't just feel better, they ship faster, reduce rework, and deliver more for clients. A decade of DORA research backs that up. More from La Cumbre dropping this week. Swipe to see the moments. 🏔️ #LaCumbre2026 #EngineeringCulture #SoftwareDevelopment #TeamBuilding #Wawandco

  • Building a great product starts with knowing exactly who you are building it for. 🎯 Too often, development teams rely on assumptions about their target audience. This misalignment is exactly how engineering hours get wasted on features that don't move the needle. You don't need a massive research budget or complex templates to align your team. Our interactive Persona Builder is always available to help you map out your users with clarity. Walk through a seamless, guided process to build detailed customer profiles, and export a clean, shareable PDF to get your developers and designers on the same page. Smarter insights lead to better products. • Onboarding isn't just a process—it’s a massive investment of your team's energy. 🎯 When a new tech hire leaves within their first year, the biggest loss isn't the open seat. It’s the momentum. Every time a team has to pause their core development to onboard, pass over project context, and train a new member, their focus shifts away from innovation. If that hire departs early, your core developers have to absorb the gap, leading to heavy context-switching and unnecessary pressure on the team that stays behind. Building a product requires steady, uninterrupted velocity. That’s why many engineering leaders are shifting toward autonomous, ready-to-ship squads. It allows you to protect your core team’s focus while bringing in senior expertise that integrates seamlessly into your workflow from day one. Let's keep your product momentum moving forward without the friction. At Wawandco we can help you, let's connect: https://buff.ly/myhxcEc #TechLeadership #SoftwareEngineering #StaffAugmentation #Wawandco #WawandcoHelpsYou
