HANNOVER MESSE may run for one week, but bringing it to life takes months of preparation, iteration and attention to detail. From shaping the story and building the demo to designing every visual asset, aligning messaging and coordinating the overall setup, an incredible amount of thought, dedication and craftsmanship went into creating a cohesive presence throughout the week. On site, the show crew carried that energy forward. Engaging in conversations, running demos and adapting in real time to make complex topics tangible for every visitor. And just as important, the team behind the scenes before and after: everyone who supported, coordinated and ultimately dismantled the booth and demo again with the same level of commitment. Day 4 at HANNOVER MESSE made one thing very tangible: the industry is aligning around how to scale, not whether to start. Center stage, Christian Piechnick joined Markus W. Hacker (NVIDIA), Sam Hiscox (PhysicsX) and Dr. Dr. Maja Himmer (T-Systems International) to discuss how Industrial AI moves beyond pilot projects, highlighting the role of cloud architectures, data strategies and cross-partner collaboration in scaling across operations. In parallel, Marwin Kunz brought together perspectives from Schaeffler, MHP – A Porsche Company and NVIDIA, with Simon Mathes, Michael Baling and Simon Hoffmann, showing how simulation platforms and the industrial metaverse are turning automation decisions into data-driven processes with significantly less risk. Together with Schaeffler, the discussion continued on our booth stage, focusing on how Physical AI is implemented step by step in real production environments, grounded in best practices with Wandelbots NOVA. The momentum carried onto the floor. We welcomed teams from Miele and the Initiative D21 e. Let's take a look behind the scenes of the physical AI ecosystem! 👀 Together with NVIDIA, I did a partner tour during HANNOVER MESSE, visiting ecosystem partners and highlighting their approach to physical AI. Akhil Docca, Head of Robotics Product Marketing at NVIDIA, explained how physical AI is now entering mainstream adoption. So in a nutshell, physical AI is the ability for AI to run in the physical world, making machines understand physics, perceive environments, and operate autonomously like humans do. NVIDIA's platform approach is simple. Three computers working together. One to train the brain, second to simulate, third to deploy, along with models and frameworks for developers. Their partner Wandelbots is building Wandelbots NOVA by integrating the open NVIDIA Isaac Sim framework. Using simulation as the first step in training robots solves a critical problem, training in the real world is risky, dangerous, and can't cover all scenarios you need. NVIDIA is investing heavily in end-to-end deployment, closing the sim-to-real gap. Wandelbots, SCHUNK - Hand in hand for tomorrow and EY have announced a strategic collaboration to accelerate the industrial-scale adoption of Physical AI across Europe’s Mittelstand, leveraging NVIDIA technology. While small and mid-sized manufacturers form the backbone of European industry, the adoption of Physical AI has remained limited. This initiative addresses that challenge by shifting from project-based automation to a standardized, productized approach. What really stood out was the response to our live digital twin demo in the Omniverse environment, drawing continuous attention and turning complex discussions about Physical AI into something tangible on the spot. Great exchanges with Madison Huang, Tanja Gönner (BDI - Bundesverband der Deutschen Industrie e.V.), Elke Anderl (T-Systems International), Henning Löser (AUDI AG) and Schaeffler reinforced how relevant this shift toward software-defined automation has become across the ecosystem. Wandelbots and W. Gessmann GmbH are introducing a platform-based approach to industrial automation at Hannover Messe 2026, demonstrating how heterogeneous robot fleets can be efficiently integrated and orchestrated across production and intralogistics environments. At the core of the joint solution is the Wandelbots NOVA platform, embedded directly into Gessmann’s mobile robots as NOVA Inside, including the GESSbot. This approach is further complemented by technologies such as NVIDIA Omniverse and NVIDIA Isaac Sim, enabling realistic simulation and validation of automation scenarios. The integrated solution connects planning, simulation and execution, allowing automation systems to be designed, validated and deployed in a unified workflow. By providing a vendor-independent software layer, Wandelbots NOVA enables different robot types to be programmed and orchestrated through one system, reducing integration complexity and supporting scalable deployment across sites, especially in brownfield environments.
